Schools spend hours trying to “reach” the kid who openly doesn’t care, while the kid who tries every day quietly gets ignored. We’re exhausting ourselves chasing resistance instead of investing in effort.

The best assistant coaches are culture builders. They reinforce the standard when no one is watching. They coach the last player on the bench like a star. They lead without needing the spotlight. Championship programs are built on their shoulders.

I've seen 6 basketball games in the last 2 days, and about 15 times, the officials have reported fouls on players that were nowhere near the play. This is the state playoffs.. that can't happen.

Being a principal is like walking a tightrope—balancing the needs of the district, the expectations of the staff, and the hopes of the students, all while carrying great responsibility but holding little power to shape the course. It's often a thankless job, so thank you!

I sent 2 letters home, there has been a post on Class Dojo every day, the kids took home a flyer, there are 2 banners hanging up outside the school, and parents still have the audacity to tell me they didn’t know the book fair was going on 😂😅

An OG told me once: They don’t respect you at the bottom, they ignore you in the middle, and they hate you at the top. You’ll never have everyone’s approval. So it’s best to just focus on what you’re doing.

Establishing and enforcing boundaries is an act of self-respect. Those who truly love and care for you will honor and appreciate them, while those who challenge or violate your limits reveal their lack of respect for both you and your well-being.

Think about the kids who inspire you to come to work.  And think about the fact that you’re the reason some kids have a good day.
