🦠🌍 This #AntimicrobialAwarenessWeek, let's remember that while antimicrobials are crucial, many drugs deemed Essential Medicines by the @WHO are NOT accessible in 🇨🇦 outside the Special Access Program. RT if you think these drugs should be more easily accessible to Canadians #AMR #AccessMatters #Infections #WAAW2024

“It’s also clear that we cannot truly #EndTB unless we address its drivers: poverty, malnutrition, diabetes, HIV, tobacco and alcohol use, poor living and working conditions, stigma and discrimination, and more” - @DrTedros #WorldTBDay2023 @WHO

Eliminating #tuberculosis in Canada is possible - but we need a plan. We are calling on the government to implement a National TB Elimination Strategy, backed by the political will & funding necessary to follow through on 🇨🇦's commitment to #EndTB.

We can't protect our kids from everything in the world, but we CAN and MUST protect them from COVID-19 infection. Vaccinating kids will reduce disruption in their lives from COVID-19 & prevent them from spreading infection to those medically vulnerable. cbc.ca/news/canada/sa…

Great job to our fab steering committee members Courtney & Tina for raising awareness about #TB & its intersectionality with injustice! In 🇨🇦 the prevalence of TB in Canada's Inuit communities is over 290x higher than in the non-Indigenous, Canadian-born population. @MarcMillerVM

@Ddrekonja Huge pet peeve! Particularly when it or the TST are ordered to work up a symptomatic patient. I think there should be a Constitutional amendment indicating that the ordering of a TST or quantiferon test to work up for active TB is a treasonous offense. RT if you agree.

Nah. Let's not lose perspective here. The vast (vast) majority of #COVID19 transmission is indoors. We know how to make safer indoor spaces but choose not to or fail to (ahem: essential workers). Outdoors is so much safer. Move as much business & school outdoors as possible.
