@1045TheZone what in the hell are y’all talking about trying to get love carries at Arizona? Any team he goes to he’s gonna be the starter, you have to worry about the other backs getting carries! Good Lord.

If you opted out of the Pop Tart Bowl, you aren’t allowed to be an analyst for the National Championship.

@rderrick80 @MikeGoolsby41 @jamespruch lol. Nebraska doesn’t play big games. They haven’t since 1999
English

Dear Notre Dame,
This is why you shouldn’t decline a bowl game. Your players could have had a great experience, received some pretty sweet gifts, and bonded as a team.
But sure. Whine and cry, take your ball, and go home. You do you, I guess.

@JohnBurrowsCFB ND is still living rent free in John's head I see. Nice!

This was Notre Dame’s second best win by the way, being only a win against an also not stellar USC team.
But please keep telling me Notre Dame is too good for the Pop-Tarts Bowl and deserves to be in the playoffs

@BillisKing Notre Dame is part of the ACC in 24 sports. We also have a contract with the ACC in football having to play 5 to 6 games against ACC competition every year. We sell out all their stadiums and bring in a lot of money to the ACC. You can say we’re big business partners
English

@stoolgambling Well.. Alabama would destroy Notre Dame and Miami.
But..
There is a 10-2 SEC team sitting in Nashville with a Heisman candidate at quarterback.
Put Vanderbilt in!

@cigsbutt171020 @NotreDame Still mad about the beatdown in South Bend last year I see. Don’t worry you don’t have to play big brother this year.
English

@NotreDame Culture problem at Notre Dame. Looking for a handout for beating Navy and Pitt. No desire to earn it or prove anything in a bowl game. ND fans the only ones who lose when you skip a bowl game. Nobody else wants to watch that mediocre team
English

“On behalf of the entire Notre Dame community, I want to express how incredibly proud we are of our football student-athletes for their accomplishments both on and off the field this season.
We are deeply grateful for the exceptional leadership of Vice President and Director of Athletics Pete Bevacqua, Head Coach Marcus Freeman, and the entire coaching staff.
Our pride stems not only from this team’s success on the field but from the values they embody: faith, perseverance, selflessness, and a steadfast commitment to the University."
—University President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C.

@dennisdoddcbs All this argument about Miami or ND is total BS. They both should be in and bama out. Ridiculous

@CaneSport Miami is irrelevant and rankings will show it tonight. Go Irish!!!☘️

@CanesfanDuke Open your eyes. Watch the games. Do you understand football?

I keep seeing the same lazy argument:
“Notre Dame is better now than they were when they played Miami.”
Cool.
But here’s the part nobody wants to talk about:
Miami is WAY better now, too.
And freezing Miami in the exact moment they lost to SMU while pretending ND gets to “improve” is the dumbest logic in the sport.
Let’s use actual facts:
Last 5 games:
— Miami: +108
— ND: +149 (inflated by a 63-point win over a broken Syracuse team)
Context matters. Not all blowouts are equal.
SP+ Rankings:
— ND: #5
— Miami: #11
Same tier. Same neighborhood. One team already won the head-to-head.
Quality Wins:
Miami has more wins over FPI Top-35 teams than ND.
The idea that ND has some “far superior résumé” is just narrative talk. It’s not real.
Strength of Record:
ND is a few spots ahead, sure.
But that metric alone does not erase the fact that Miami already beat them.
And that head-to-head wasn’t fluky.
Miami held ND to their lowest point total of the entire season (24).
Nobody else has slowed that offense down like Miami did. Not USC, not Pitt, not Navy, nobody.
So let’s kill the myth:
Yes, ND is better now.
Miami is better now too.
You don’t get to pretend ND “grew” while Miami stayed frozen in early November. Miami has three straight wins by 17+ and is playing its best football of the season right now.
If two teams have the same record, similar metrics, similar résumés, and one beat the other on the field?
The team that won should never be ranked behind the team they beat.
If Notre Dame wants to be ahead of Miami, there’s a simple solution:
Beat Miami.
They didn’t.
Everything else is just guys like Herbstreit and Cowherd refusing to admit the team they buried after SMU actually got better. Narratives don’t win games. Logos don’t win games. Reputation doesn’t win games.
Miami did.

@phatdaddi84 Huge game tomorrow between Louisville & SMU!!! They both have something in common. Can you guess?
