
Wow, this is still happening in 2026. I had this happen to me back in 2014 with Fullscreen. No love for the smaller creators and if you did happen to seem promising, they would still promote the already built channels making it very hard for someone to grow.
The only upside was the change to get in the YPP but once fullscreen changed their ways, they kicked all the smaller channels and took revenue away. YPP took away the features and basically killed a lot of channels. It eventually led me to giving up on YT and as of right now, that push or motivation is gone. I'll upload when I can and honestly, the way YT has their service now. I hardly get any views and it discourages myself and others to not even care about uploading anymore.
People can do a lot better on their own. Than worrying about partnering with agencies or MCN's.
