@MidlifeCrysis_ I’m in Group 5: wait for the product reviews, the PCB/ASIC analysis, and the frame-by-frame/like-for-like game comparisons and then decide to buy the AES+ or not. Some us do have mortgages and families to prioritize doncha know?!? 😉

Since the Neo Geo AES+ Announcement there is 3 groups of people:
1: Folk who complain about price and the fact you can get the games on other platforms both retro and current.
2: Current AES owners using forensic analysis on the plus addition console and its games, constantly discussing value impact and showing general frustration with the release that mere “casuals” get to experience it.
3: Those have pre ordered it, just chilling waiting for November and watching the other 2 groups have meltdowns over it.
4: Bonus group - Those who don’t care

@TheMekon_Venus I’ve got several, they contained 2/3/4Megabytes of DRAM, and extra RAM for game save memory and system setting. 3.5 inch high density floppy disks were able to store 1.38MegaBytes (1.44 million Bytes) of data, so the game was split into 1MB parts across 1-4 disks.

As a kid.. I had heard about these.
But wasn’t sure if they were real… but it turned out they were.
The idea of copying games for consoles sounded a bit wacky.
After all the way games load from cartridge must have been diferent to floppy?
Did they load the entire disk into ram.. which it would have had to have with the disk drive?
Or was it just very very slow?
Did anyone have one?
