@garyblack00 You’ve identified that the price cuts are negative, yet Tesla keeps cutting prices. Why do you think Tesla will change this strategy? If Tesla does not change, will you still hold your position in TSLA?
English

Funny how $TSLA bulls point to 2023 stock price gain of +102% as evidence that TSLA’s strategy of cutting prices last year worked. Even though $TSLA stock was down -65% in 2022 (mostly 4Q) as WS started cutting eps estimates for the discounts that preceded the price cuts.
Math: $TSLA -65% decline in 2022 followed by +102% gain in 2023 still results in -29% decline over two years (vs NDX +3%). (1-65%) x (1+102%) = -29%

@garyblack00 @sagardeo Is TSLA still a hold if you make worst case assumptions that the price cuts continue until margins approach those of competitors? Would be helpful to get your take on the bear case.
English

@sagardeo I get the theory but cutting prices doesn’t stimulate more delivs to produce more training data. Communicating the advantages of EVs vs non-EVs would get more training data. Your logic is flawed.

Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. Price cuts on existing M-3/M-Y trims do little to advance that mission. $TSLA mgmt is again playing the short game of cutting prices to pull forward orders for a month or two. If we learned anything in 2023, once competitors match the price cuts, the acceleration in order flow reverses, and inventory discounts return and the process repeats.
On the other hand, introducing a $25K next gen vehicle IS consistent with TSLA’s mission since it expands TSLA TAM to a whole new segment of buyers. Educating non-EV users why they should go EV (lower costs, charging convenience, OTA technology updates, superior performance, good for environment) will also accelerate EV adoption. IMHO TSLA should focus on its long term mission of accelerating EV adoption and spend less time managing short term order flow.

@wintonARK Exit row seats cost more, and some passengers don’t qualify to sit in the exit row, so there could be a bias towards vacancy for those seats

@lovemesomemusk Hi. Saw your video from 2022 Tesla shareholder meeting. Regarding my +1 guest I'm bring along, will Tesla send them a separate email to fill out the form to RSVP their spot? Does my guest need to have their separate QR code to enter the meeting? Thanks
