May all beings be liberated from their endless migrations in samsara. May all beings cross over the beginningless ocean of confusion and sorrow. May all beings touch the deathless and know lasting peace. 🙏

@Eugenist_ She is just stating the old Mahasamgika position on the Buddha. The alternative view held by modern Theravada is that the Buddha was not awakened until his last human birth and his life was not an expedient display of a transcendent principle.

@Jantenki1574 He says this and yet hopes he goes to heaven to be with God for eternity after he dies? Isn’t the point of heaven that there is no suffering there? 🤔

This is one of the most rare Magikarp out there, and it’s the only one to know the move ‘Dragon Rage’ The Tamamushi University Magikarp was handed out in March 1998. The campaign enrolled students to the Tamamushi University (otherwise known as the Celadon University). Like most Universities, Tamamushi had a logo (picture 2) and a mascot: this specific Magikarp! But this Magikarp was unique in that it knew Dragon Rage. And, if you know anything about Pokémon, you know that Magikarp famously only knows Splash and Tackle (sometimes flail I guess). To obtain this Magikarp, students of the University had to complete a series of mail-in exams. Each exam was more difficult than the prior. The final exam blended questions from popular culture in real life, and in game events from Pokémon games. It was announced that only 1000 copies of this Magikarp card would be distributed. However, it’s speculated that even less of these cards were made publicly available due to the difficulty of the exams. Magikarp, relatively speaking, is fairly weak and fragile in the Pokémon world. However, with dedication, determination, and some time and love, it evolves into one of the most strong and ferocious Pokémon, Gyarados. This very simple transition translates to real life so well. When we start school (or anything for that matter), we are often lost and ignorant. Yet thanks to the care and dedication of our teachers, and our own perseverance, we come out more well rounded and educated humans. Pokémon has an incredible knack for storytelling. Even the simplest of transitions are often applicable to our own lives ✨

All it took for me to understand Buddhism was sitting on a throne like Conan the curious barbarian while the Buddhist scholar I married and my 10 Buddhist scholars in my Discord lecture me; oh and also LEARNING CHINESE because it sure as hell doesn't make sense in English

Vedism has this old "YOU MUST NEVER READ IT ONLY LEARN FROM THE GURUS" thing going on which is ridiculous but lokirk it could work with Buddhism because trying to approach it without a holding hand is just walking face first into a brick wall of jargon that makes Kant look direct

@stuntedaphidcel Even the foremost Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna said his philosophy was empty of content and designed to get people to stop clinging to views. If you get too intellectual in Buddhist circles you get spot checked with the rejoinder: “how does this actually help people tho”.

@stuntedaphidcel Buddhism is generally against the concept of the “intellectual”, yes. Because it is just another form of identity clinging. The only intellectuals Buddhists really respect are those who live in the forest, covered in rags, eating once a day, giving teachings to anyone who asks 🤷🏻

@nestapendragon Commander is popular because you can play it in a group of 4. Not sure if there is anything Wizards can do about the fact that most people would rather do one 4-player game than two 1v1s when meeting up to play. Not to mention 60 card decks are too expensive.

There's more commander players than ever. And more cards are being made and sold than ever! But you can't compete at "real" magic every week at your local store. It looks like that's dead and gone. Maybe that's what veterans see? And I feel they are right.
