@Acyn I'm getting really sick and tired of the misconduct of the political hacks on the Roberts Court. It may take a few decades, but we must get the Supreme Court in order—or get rid of it entirely.

Great story. Heartbreaking. Trump promised to be the “most pro-farmer president.” He’s shaping up to be the pro-bankruptcy president. nytimes.com/2026/05/03/us/…

Yes this is a chart of imported processed beef. My entire point is the Obama admin allowed the import of animals ready for processing and they called them an American product. They would not be included in this chart. Consumers don’t notice, processors get cheap beef, ranchers get fucked.

@realitywont @AliceFromQueens You know they track imports right? Like we can literally see the statistics. In the graph provided can you point me to the years obama was president?

@matt86547114 @AliceFromQueens Really? You think flooding the market with Brazilian and Australian beef with a made in USA sticker because it was cut in America didn’t effect American cattle farmers? Have you ever met a rancher?

@mattyglesias Can anyone point to the scientific breakthrough that showed how to build all 7 amino acids into a complete protein molecule? Last time we tried this it caused type 2 diabetes and there is yet to be a study showing how we built full proteins into a chem lab.

@Bakari_Sellers Now do New England. Why is it that when Dems gerrymander it’s just to be fair and if Republicans do it it’s racist?

@mattyglesias Same party that made a rodeo clown national news for wearing a mask and had a Hispanic sanitation worker fired for allegedly making an “ok” symbol fired want to play semantics about the meaning of a literal nazi death camp tattoo. Pardon me, but go fuck yourself.

@TomasBarre61852 @JackPosobiec Turning down a special opportunity to support his team and work to be a better player is not a questionable decision it is leadership.

@JackPosobiec I think he’s making a huge mistake. It’s an honor to visit the WH, if he’s already making questionable decisions before hitting the field, GL with succeeding in the NFL. As a fellow Cuban, I like the kid but he needs to man up and not disrespect the WH. Bad move kid.

@bonchieredstate I feel like drying up all of their funding will lead to some sort of change in Iran. Might not be good change but there will be change.

This is why Trump can’t just keep sitting on this and needs to make a decision on whether to restart hostilities. The longer we wait, the worse the costs get. Iran is not going to collapse from the blockade. It’ll inconvenience the regime, but it won’t defeat them.

1/ This is what $200 per barrel of oil would mean for US gas prices, which currently average $4.30 per gallon. It could go much higher. As one analyst says, once oil stockpiles are functionally exhausted by the end of May, "price increases become exponential rather than linear."

@jonathanchait No we don’t, we think it was founded on Western Christian principles because it was. That has absolutely nothing to do with race despite your constant efforts to make western values white values.

Honestly don’t care, the mass murder and rape is plenty savage for me. Hamas didn’t focus on military sites, they focused on civilians because they are cowards. If a cartel from Mexico did this in San Diego and the Mexican government celebrated it we would have rightfully invaded Mexico City within 48 hours.

Oh, wow: I genuinely didn't realize there were any people left who still believe the long-debunked and twisted lie that Hamas, on October 7, beheaded babies, but apparently there are some still who believe it (or pretend to), and one of them is the US Ambassador to Israel @GovMikeHuckabee. A total of 1 baby was killed on Oct 7 (10-month-old Mila Cohen). She wasn't beheaded, nor baked in an oven, nor cut out of her mother's womb. Nobody died in those ways. Those were demented lies invented by Israeli officials and endlessly circulated by western media (and, in the case of the "beheaded babies" fabrication, affirmed by Joe Biden who, in Israel, falsely claimed he saw videos of it). The one baby who was killed on Oct 7 was shot with her family. This doesn't mean October 7 was any less this or any more that. It's not about mitigating this or defending that. It's simply about truth. What all this does mean is that multiple now-debunked lies were told on purpose about Oct 7 and people, especially with high positions in government like Mike Huckabee, should stop repeating those lies as if they're true. Debunking lies about wars and events that provoke wars is a vital function of journalists, historians, and anyone who cares about truth.

The NYT did extensive intvu w/ Tucker Carlson-& questions were legit & professional. In it, Tucker accused me of advocating for killing of children & civilians. Asked to respond, I sent the following. (In fairness, NYT couldn't use all), but here it is: “Poor Tucker needs help.  He’s clearly circling the drain by saying something so outrageous.  No sane person “advocates” for the murder of children or civilians.  Even the allegation is sick and evil. Tucker  apparently limits his compassion to the unfortunate souls who have died in Gaza as a result of the stubbornness of Hamas to release hostages and who murdered their own citizens and intentionally put them in front of military assets where they would be most likely to become victims of the war.  One never hears Tucker lament the massacre and mutilation of 1200 women, babies, and elderly people butchered by Hamas on October 7 or the torture, rape and starvation of the 251 hostages taken and held by Hamas.  I am heartbroken by the slaughter of innocent civilians wherever they are and whoever they are.  Tucker’s irrational hatred of Jews in general and Israel in particular blinds him to the horrific savagery inflicted upon the victims of October 7, including the rape of women in front of their children, the beheading of babies in the presence of their mothers, or setting fire to elderly people who sat in wheelchairs and were burned alive, all of which were captured on video taken by Hamas terrorists who were so proud of their despicable acts that they wore Go-Pro cameras to record it as if they were taking movies of a dance recital.  Tucker’s contempt of President Trump is just another instance in which the Tucker Carlson I once knew has become someone unrecognizable.  I pray he finds himself and God.  He has become a very angry and bitter man and it’s truly tragic to watch.”

Tucker is as compelling as he is charming. More a bullshitter than brilliant. How do you match this statement with him denying saying things, being shown a clip of him saying those things, then denying them again? Or regretting the Fuentes interview to focus on iran, a war that wouldnt start for 6 months?

It's hard to know how many people on here are trying to manufacture a false narrative about Tucker Carlson's New York Times interview vs. simply suffer from a form of Tucker Derangement Syndrome. Either way there seems to be an effort to avoid - and encourage others to avoid - the whole 90 minute interview in favor of random out-of-context clips... a willful ignorance machine. But it's part of the X bubble. Tucker is brilliant, compelling, and one of the most influential forces in media. You don't have to agree with all - or even most - of what he says to see that clearly: youtube.com/watch?v=2tpMkU…
