Strong work by @SAGES_updates AMA Delegation. Working with @ASMBS, @ASGEendoscopy, & our Digestive Diseases Section Council we advanced AMA policy addressing insurance discrimination of patients with obesity, the use of BMI, & oversight of AI use in generating coverage denials.

Mission Accomplished @SAGES_updates AMA Delegation! In collaboration with @AmerAcadPeds & @ASMBS we moved the AMA to address comprehensive pediatric obesity treatment and evolving guidelines regarding bariatric surgical candidacy. Great team effort!

Big day for @SAGES_Updates delegation! We just testified on the AMA House of Delegates floor (1,000+ attendees) & alongside NY delegation helped move the AMA to tackle the issue of denials of proven treatments labeled as “experimental” by insurers.

Just had a visceral reaction when I heard a provider say, "This is an ex NICU kid with all the NICU problems." After being a NICU parent, I have become hyper-aware of language we use to describe our patients. Language matters. Think first. #NeoTwitter #PedsICU
