Join the Sea Lions Underwater Hockey team for an info & practice session for new recruits & their parents at MLK Pool (5701 3rd Street) on Friday, 4/24 from 6-8PM. The co-ed program serves good swimmers ages 10-15 & focuses on training for national & international competition.

Last month, the Friends of Kimbell Community Garden hosted their first volunteer workday, during which community members helped spread mulch, clear weeds & debris, & more. Congratulations to this group on this milestone & thank you for loving our parks!

Mays’ @SayHeyFdn donated a $5 million lead gift that would help make the project possible. The complex would provide year-round play, support free youth programs like @gojrgiants, & create a vibrant community hub. The larger park would still be named Crocker Amazon Playground.

In addition to approving the naming of the complex at Crocker Amazon Playground, Rec & Park Commissioners recommended that the Board of Supervisors accept the grant from the Giants. If accepted & the project moves forward, the Giants will designate the fields in honor of Mays.

The Rec & Park Commission on Thursday approved naming the Crocker Amazon Baseball & Softball Complex the Willie Mays Fields of Champions, honoring the legendary Giant & his enduring legacy of inspiring youth through sport.
