@redbarnspratton John Cussans told a BASE meeting that you lose pre em efficacy with residue, but gain with less soil disturbance so less germination so it’s pretty much honours even. At least that’s what I heard. I tend to only hear what I want to hear 😂

@davidpurdysoils @woodboroughpark I never have a problem growing that as a cover crop. Not sure how deep rooting it is though?

Experiment to show the ability of plant roots to push into compacted soil. Top half of cylinder have a BD of 1.2 g cm3 and lower half 1.4 g cm3 left buckwheat right black oat

I want to ask a public question to @JanetHughes about sowing a summer cover crop in the extended overwinter stubble Mid Tier option AB6. The idea being that anyone can see the official reply + make comments. Being able to do this would make a big difference to me. Short thread.

Harvest slowly progressing- 50% complete! Some spring barley this afternoon coming off a bit damper than we’d like but getting through it. Fingers crossed for some sun next week 🙏🏻🤞🏻

@chhcalling On the subject of farmers…I am one and my farm is being plagued by relentless fly-tipping. I have gathered evidence and reported the crimes but neither the police, west Northants council or the police and crime commissioner seem interested in perusing. Could you please assist?
