@SamLee Bold attacking selection. Bright start. Could have been ahead after 20 minutes. First goal was against run of play. But the old frailties v RM resurfaced. For 25 mins Until HT we were all over the place. Purpose of away first leg is to stay in the tie. We have failed to do that.

Full-time, 3-0, and just a big shambles really. Never mind abandoning the recent set-up, Guardiola seemed to abandon the usual intention to keep these games tight and not get knocked out in the first leg. That's just about the entire philosophy. Midfield way too open until it was too late, as just one issue

@SamLee 2-0 HT mainly due to Spurs being abysmal - not due to City being particularly impressive. It should really have been 3-0 (Haaland miss at 1-0 when the keeper came off line & Haaland lifted it over the bar). This City side is so fragile when under any sort pressure eg Fulham away

This is a bit like the Chelsea game from the start of this month in that City have played well enough to have scored far more goals than they have, but are playing badly enough to still be in with a chance of being pegged back

@StevenMcinerney Should have been out of sight by HT. Sky described 1st half as “soccer aid” and they’re right. We weren’t that good, it’s just Spurs were abysmal. And we imploded again 2nd half. In fact Donna saved us from defeat. A truly demoralising result and performance.

There is no excusing that capitulation. The refs awful, but be better anyway. Fitness excuse negated by some depth being back. The season being a transitional one negated by Spurs being absolutely shite. It just wasn't good enough sadly. Too many players not turning up who should be offering so much more.
