@Kneon I can get how the TV is sending data back to the manufacturer, but how is it sending the data? Is the manufacturer assuming the user is going to connect to the pre-installed systems via wi-fi? What if I'm an old-head that still uses the coax-signal? What if I just use the TV as a giant computer monitor?

@SEGA I know you have no real reason to reply to this, but I figured I'd give it a shot: I remember that with the SEGA CD version of Spider-Man vs the Kingpin, there was a challenge to win a prize (An autographed Ibanez guitar), simply finish the game on Nightmare mode and collect all the hidden trinkets and send in the code that appears to SEGA of America, and you'd be entered into a Sweepstakes. Going back, I played the original Spider-Man vs The Kingpin for the Genesis/MD, and I noticed a similar code on the bottom of the screen after finishing the game on Nightmare mode, but I can't find anything regarding a contest. Was there something going on in 1991?
