@aliceolilly The cat I feed and play with daily (aka, our actual cat) still does this to me. Or sits precisely an arm’s length plus two inches away, back turned. That is cat!

A neighbour has a cute cat I sometimes see in the downstairs garden. Went to put the bins out earlier and the cat was there, so- very excitedly- I tried to make friends with it. It stared at me for several minutes, and then turned its head away and walked off. Humiliating.
