I have been wanting to start this thread for a while, but now I am finally going for it. This is the “Trump outrageously lying” thread. Feel free to contribute. We will start with this “reducing costs by 1000%” (lie or gross stupidity?) gem. x.com/Acyn/status/19…
Acyn@Acyn

Trump: You understand and we will be reducing drug costs over the next year by not 50 or 60% but by 1000%… Because if you think of a $10 pill -- it will be raised up from 10 to 20 because it's the world versus us, the world is the bigger place.. so it will go from 10 to 20… for them which is bearable. And it will go from 10 to 20 for us.

He was being weird and out of line sure, no question about that, but I bet you relished the opportunity for attention from 5 million strangers on twitter over the attention of one man who seemed genuinely interested to get to know you as a person

So because I got an oil change you think it’s ok to save my phone number to text me? This is beyond creepy… I’ll be reporting this.

I got a late night text from an unknown number asking for pics. It was the tow truck driver, who had gotten my number off the dispatch sheet and KNEW WHERE I LIVED. Ask me if I feel guilty about calling the company and getting him fired.

Men have to now walk around on eggshells around women when asking them out because they're always afraid it's going to be "harrassment" for the woman. Then women complain men don't ask them out anymore.

@jason_sixsmith @elimcgowan Nonsense. Studying how race affects laws and institutions is not antithetical to Christianity. Similarly, protesting because Black people are not treated as well by police is similarly not antithetical to Christianity.

@RgCassi @covie_93 How’s that Trump healthcare plan coming? Let me guess. It will be available in two weeks? Did Trump specify that he would increase the unemployment rate and inflation? Did he promise to get us into unnecessary wars? Because that is what he has been doing?

@covie_93 You got it backwards. I am waiting for a Democrat platform but all democrats are doing exactly this. DemoRats ran on name calling, Nazi or Hitler & white supremacist. Trump ran on specifics & he's doing them. As usual a leftist is blaming us for what they are doing.

A Democrat running for office must provide detailed plans on how to fix every issue while a Republican running for office just need to come up with a nickname for their opponent.

@mr_jorts @courtneyellis Show me any egalitarian who thinks that niceness is the supreme Christian virtue. I can definitely show you many supposed Christians who think that the fruit of the Spirit is an à la carte menu that they can pick and choose from.

Maybe the theological divide isn’t between conservative and progressive or Baptist and Catholic or complementarian and egalitarian or whatever but between those who are gracious and those who enjoy being big jerks. Every camp’s got them.

There’s no rational conversation that can be had about religion with politically active Evangelicals because their core belief is that the most evil thing a person can be is a Democrat.

@refactoredmarc @tedlieu @DAGToddBlanche Presidents have long been given the leeway to compensate victims of over prosecution. You’re just upset because for once it’s not your party compensating people. It’s completely constitutional. It’s his money from the leak of a deranged IRS agent. And it’s going to happen BIGLY.

@tedlieu @DAGToddBlanche So full of hate! Very sad! The president can do what he wants with his settlement from the despicable leak from the IRS! Maybe focus on Americans and you’ll realize why Mr. President won the popular vote! 🇺🇸

Richard Cash, one of the most conservative Republicans in the South Carolina statehouse, may have just marked the death knell for redistricting. "Neither my conscience nor the common sense will allow me to stop an election that is already underway," he says.

@RussellFrySC Trump doesn’t care about being fair. He simply wants to avoid the losing power. That’s the only thing that he cares about. If you cared about fairness, he would have come out against the Texas redistricting that started this whole nonsense.

The SC Senate had every opportunity to act. Instead, they slow-walked this process until the clock ran out — and now they’re hiding behind excuses. President Trump was right to call for fair, competitive maps that reflect South Carolina’s conservative values. With the population growth our state has seen and a legal environment far different from when these maps were first drawn, South Carolina should have led on this issue, not run from it. Florida acted. Tennessee acted. Their maps were upheld today. Meanwhile, the SC Senate delayed, dithered, left town early, and made it easier for Democrats to target Republican seats across the country, all while using a hypothetical Court ruling as a mechanism for inaction. Let’s be clear about what’s at stake: Democrats want to impeach President Trump, import millions of illegal immigrants, and raise costs on hardworking families through more government regulation. Voters sent Republicans to Columbia with a supermajority (Trump helped deliver that supermajority) because they expected bold leadership and results — not excuses and procedural games. The SC Senate failed to deliver on that mandate today.

I’m disappointed the Senate failed to get this bill across the finish line. South Carolina had an opportunity to finally give voters in the 6th Congressional District a fairer and more competitive map. I have said all along that our state has both the authority and the responsibility to fix it. This fight is not over.
