Enough with the false flag operation that you are desperately pushing @SpanbergerForVA You told Virginia voters last fall that you wouldn’t redistrict our state and silence millions of voters, but you lied and tried to do it anyway. You knew from the very start that your scheme was illegal and unconstitutional.  You had my official AG opinion which laid out in clear detail why each action was unconstitutional, but you ignored it and pushed ahead with the referendum anyway. When a judge halted the referendum because he found it had violated the state constitution, the AG and your legal team appealed his ruling to the VA Supreme Court and argued that the case couldn’t be heard until AFTER the vote had taken place. Then, when the VA Supreme Court ruled and said you had violated the law, you lied about why you lost the case (and then some in your party even hatched a plot to remove all of the Justices as retribution). Now the US Supreme Court in a 9-0 decision, with Biden and Obama appointees agreeing, unanimously ruled that you broke the law and the entire process was unconstitutional from the beginning. Enough with the bait and switch, Governor. It’s time to be honest with Virginians for once. You and your fellow Democrats tried to illegally and unconstitutionally strip millions of Virginians of their voice in congress, costing taxpayers millions, dividing our state and pitting neighbor against neighbor, all to seize political power.
Governor Abigail Spanberger@GovernorVA

The Supreme Court of the United States has now joined the Supreme Court of Virginia in choosing to nullify an election and the votes of more than three million Virginians. These Virginians made their voices heard — casting their ballots in good faith to push back against a President who said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress before voters go to the polls. As Governor, I will make sure voters know when and how to cast their votes this year. Because our votes are how we choose the representation we deserve.

We should all be thankful that the rule of law won today at the VA Supreme Court. But let’s be clear about something: Abigail Spanberger, Don Scott, Louise Lucas, Jay Jones, & every other leading Democrat in VA should be ashamed of themselves for dragging us through this unlawful process. They knew this was illegal yet they forced us all to endure $70 million dollars of obnoxious commercials that were all based on lies. They cranked up the partisan fear-mongering rhetoric to 10, turning neighbor against neighbor over this garbage referendum. They wasted taxpayer money for a farce. These folks owe every Virginian an apology.

Many of you on the left are commenting that the decision was 4-3, as if the math somehow changes what actually happened. Four Justices on the Virginia Supreme Court canceled the votes of every person who voted “yes.” All the money. All the effort. Cancelled. I know it is easy to blame the Court for what happened today. But here is the absolute truth: The Virginia Democrats broke the law. They did it openly, blatantly, and with complete disregard for the consequences. They believed they were untouchable because they controlled the executive branch and the legislative branch. The acted like mob bosses with no accountability. But in a government with checks and balances - the Courts always have the final say. Your vote was not canceled because four justices woke up and decided to invalidate an election. Your vote was canceled because Virginia Democrats put the Court in a position where the law required intervention. You should absolutely be angry that your vote was taken away. But be angry at the people who ignored the law and caused this mess in the first place. If Democrats had simply followed the Constitution and done it correctly, none of this would have happened.

NEW: Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones said in a statement: "Today the Supreme Court of Virginia has chosen to put politics over the rule of law by issuing a ruling that overturns the April 21st special election on redistricting. This decision silences the voices of the millions of Virginians who cast their ballots in every corner of the Commonwealth, and it fuels the growing fears across our nation about the state of our democracy.       As Attorney General, it is my job to enforce the laws on the books and defend the will of the people. Before the Court, my office clearly laid out both in filings and oral arguments that this constitutional amendment process and voter ratification occurred in a timely, constitutionally-compliant, and legally sound manner.”

🚨The Virginia Supreme Court ruled against Democrats’ redistricting effort and it appears Democrats 10-1 gerrymandered map is dead. “According to the majority, the General Assembly violated the intervening-election requirement in Article XII, Section 1 of the Virginia Constitution by passing a proposed constitutional amendment for the first time after early voters had begun casting their ballots during the 2025 general election. Although Article IV, Section 3 mandates that delegates shall be elected on the Tuesday succeeding the first Monday in November, the majority takes the position that there is a material variation between "shall be elected" and the "general election" described in Article XII Section 1. It reasons that, unlike the single day on which a delegate is elected, a general election is not a fixed day. Instead, they conclude that an election is a cumulative process, encompassing the combined actions of voters casting ballots and officers receiving those votes, that begins on the first day of early voting and ends on Election Day. By focusing on the legislative history, dictionary definitions, and how legal scholars might interpret the term "election," the majority fails to apply the most basic tenet of interpretation of constitutional provisions: looking to the language of the constitution itself.”

Yes, I hear the districting measure passed in Virginia. But I also firmly believe the question that was posed on the ballot violated Virginia law (which requires neutral presentation). I hope the Virginia Supreme Court does the right thing. The ballot question was fraud on its face and politically charged, claiming the purpose of the amendment was “to restore fairness.” It did the opposite; even democrats voting for it don’t believe this was about “fairness.” The Virginia Supreme Court has yet to rule on it.

I’m not being flippant…it just isn’t close. The conditions for a world war in the nuclear age seems u likely in this moment. Russia has its hands full with Ukraine, China isn’t going to go to war over Iran etc So which major powers are ready to duke it out with a military that just sank the entire Iranian navy in 48 hrs? I understand that predicting WW3 is very fashionable and betting on the stupidity and destructive nature of humanity is a safe bet, but when one looks at the conditions of the last two world wars and then analyzes current conditions, I think the idea that the worlds major powers are all about to go to war with one another doesn’t add up. Russia couldn’t even take out Ukraine. China has massive internal problems and a major technological disadvantage with the US military. One of the things you have to ask is what would the Russians and Chinese gain by participating in such a world war? Russia could not afford a full on war with Europe right now. China can’t afford a war with the United States. I’m not saying there won’t be sustained conflict in some form…that’s pretty much always the case in some form, but “World War 3!!!” I just don’t think it’s likely. We don’t have several nations with military and economic parity on the verge of fighting one another on that kind of scale.
