Not here to debate the necessity of jets at Billy Bishop but this is just another anti democratic move by our premier. Yes, he can do what he wants and cut out municipal authority but just because he can doesn’t mean he should. The precedent has been set. Awful. #ONpoli

@EricDLombardi They would have been *purchased* at a lower cost and put on the rental market. They wouldn't have been *rented* at a lower cost though. Is this an efficient way tocreate affordable housing? Honestly, maybe. Fixing the housing crisis is a much better solution but this isn't bad.

This is a big developer bail out. All of these condo units would have found their way to the rental market, at a lower cost, without the province spending a dime. There are real people to help as the housing market (hopefully) continues on a path to price normalization. This is the people who scrimped and saved and took on huge debts to buy into the dream of homeownership, and find themselves at the mercy of a dysfunctional market that policy failure is responsible for. But there is nothing for them. They don’t get a bail out. Meanwhile, we can’t seem to find the money for our education, health, and other critical provincial functions.

Mismanagement of Ontario’s justice and correctional systems are resulting in people accused and convicted of serious crimes being released early. Plus there’s a mental health crisis in our jails. Another failure of this “tough on crime” PC government that’s making us less safe.

@JoshMatlow Well, everything south of Front Street was in filled. Let’s face it, the CNE isn’t what it used to be, and they already started by building the X hotel. The land sits vacant most of the year and it’s only a matter of time until the rest of it gets built on.

Wasting a massive amount of tax dollars to infill Lake Ontario is wrong. And this isn’t just about a convention centre. I don’t believe it. It looks more like the Ford government is actively moving toward taking over city lands- Exhibition Place.

Expanding Billy Bishop Airport is just common sense and we’re going to get it done. It will mean less gridlock at existing airports, cheaper flights to more destinations and thousands of new, good-paying jobs for workers from across Ontario.
