@mattvanswol I feel Trump lost. However, let’s entertain foreign meddling. Who was in charge of the executive branch at the time? Who would have been responsible for alerting us and securing our elections from foreign interference… There needs to be accountability.

If Calvinism is true—that every person is born totally unable to believe the gospel, and that faith is only possible through God’s sovereign, supernatural regeneration that causes belief in the elect—then WHY was Jesus astonished at the Centurion’s exceptional faith (Matthew 8:10) and astonished at the unbelief of the people in His hometown (Mark 6:6)? A consistent Calvinist view renders Jesus’s astonishment inexplicable, since faith (or its absence) would simply be the inevitable outworking of God’s unconditional decree and effectual calling rather than something genuinely surprising or praiseworthy in response to human response!

The false premise behind his anemic attempt at a snotty post is the AI is an objective tool or mechanism. That it organically and dynamically acquires all knowledge like a sentient being (or even God). When in reality that knowledge is coded into it by fallible human sources.

Ironically enough, those who believe in reformed soteriology actually believe in a much more extreme ontological change in salvation than anyone else. We take a much more serious and tangible view of regeneration. So serious that we do not believe a person can ever go back. It is a permanent change within us that only grows more with time. It is laughable to accuse us of nominalism.

@LizzieMarbach I like what is written in Scripture, but I might disagree with the assumptions you carry into that verse. Who is to? Who went out? Why just verses later the admonition to remain if your proof text applies generally to either those whose never were or who can never leave?

@rentveil Scripture tells us that is the proper response. You might not like it, but it’s true. They went out from us because they were never truly of us.
