I have been reporting on this story since it first hit social media. Many of these parents had no idea Aayden Gallagher was a boy until he hit the track. This is the last race he ran in where he beat fellow sophomore, and track star, Aster Jones. At this point people in the audience had been informed these girls were running against a boy. A boy in their locker rooms. A boy cheered on by his coaches and enabled by officials and corrupt politicians. The audience had caught on here and cheered for Aster and booed the boy. I’m angry at the adults for allowing this to happen. I don’t wish ill on this boy. People in his life are lying to him and encouraging this. His mother, his coaches. It’s a terrible thing to do. But they want him to feel special and they want to win. At the expense of girls. The girls were threatened by the high school sports governing body OSAA against speaking out. Now they are being lectured on social media by adults to stand up to this when the adults won’t do anything themselves.

Another proud moment for women's sports! Aayden Gallagher (male) just placed 1st in the Oregon state championship in the women's 200m after placing 2nd in the 400m. Just listen to the audible BOOS. People are over this...& it's about time.

Look at the girls on the podium applauding when 2nd place (the rightful winner) is announced. Then watch them when the boys name is announced. Stop saying girls are okay with this because they aren't. This is heartbreaking and deeply regressive.

.@SaveORgirlsport wrote to the new Democrat House Majority Leader @RepBenBowman, and this was his response. I strongly disagree with Rep Bowman on this. He's promoting leaving these decisions to regulators, such as the Oregon Department of Education and those making major Title IX reforms, instead of elected legislators. He's also ignoring the teachers, coaches, parents, health professionals, and girls that disagree, and are being told they must comply or else. Finally, his response appears very dismissive to the girls that are being harmed. This isn't about whether or not girls are competing at elite levels, this is about fairness and respect for all people. Those of us opposed to this are not singling kids out. Nor are we denying kids the opportunity to play. We are simply saying that, to respect the dignity of all players, competition should be divided by s$x. This is also about objective truth, science, biology, and reason. We cannot deny girls their dignity and abandon objective truth just to protect someone else's feelings. Oregon citizens should demand their elected legislators act and protect girls sports! Vote Republican in November.
