"Homosexuality is unnatural.." says this book, where snakes talk, apples set an eternal curse, people come back from the dead, a guy walks on water, and a virgin has a baby!

@Brcremer The world’s definition of love is much different than the biblical version. Which do you mean?

When our Christianity begins to look like vengeance, animosity, and hostility towards the world, rather than love, humility, and compassion, that is when we know we are following someone other than Jesus.

The primary division between Christians is not East versus West or Catholic versus Protestant, it’s those who truly follow Jesus versus those who just use his name to justify cruelty, domination, and supremacy.

If one is to use the term “First Nations” or “Indigenous Peoples” or “Native Americans” in the Americas and Antipodes, then, in fairness, it should also apply to English, French, Spanish and other such peoples in Europe

@TeamTalaricoHQ @jamestalarico If Satan had a religion what would it be like? It would be a kind of counterfeit Christianity. It would pretend to love others by condoning sin. It would twist God’s word.

.@JamesTalarico: There is nothing Christian about Christian Nationalism. It is the worship of power in the name of Christ—and it is a betrayal of Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus never asked us to kill police officers, ban books, silence teachers, or defund schools. Jesus never asked us to control women's bodies or establish a Christian theocracy. All he asked was that we love thy neighbor. We are called to love all of our neighbors, and that is exactly the opposite of what Christian Nationalism does in the world.

@DrFrankTurek The heart is who you are. It is the seat of faith and love. However it is easily deceived. So it should be guided by the head.

@TeamTalaricoHQ @jamestalarico If Satan has a religion, this is it. Don’t worship Jesus. Love Sodom and Gomorrah. Abortion is the cornerstone of our platform. The sexual mutilation of children shows we care.

.@JamesTalarico: Christian Nationalists walk around with a mouth full of scripture and a heart full of hate. Don't tell me what you believe, show me how you treat other people, and I'll tell you what you believe. Jesus didn't tell us to love our churches, our doctrines, or our scriptures. He told us to love our neighbors—regardless of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, or immigration status. When my religion tries to come between me and my neighbor, I will choose my neighbor. Not once in the entire Bible does Jesus ask us to worship him. All he asks is that we follow him. Love like he loved: welcome the stranger, feed the hungry, heal the sick, and free the oppressed. They will know we are Christians by our love.

Consider the revolutionary ideologies of today: socialism is the politicized envy of wealth; feminism, the envy of patriarchy; transgenderism, the envy of sexual distinction; Critical Race Theory, the envy of skin color; secularism, the envy of Christian influence; globalism, the envy of national sovereignty; and postmodernism, the envy of truth itself. These movements are not driven by the pursuit of higher ideals but by envy, tearing down rather than building up. It might not be obvious, but even atheism, which opened the door for many of these ideas, is essentially the politicized envy of deity. Whenever man has sought to hold the reigns of divine sovereignty, he brings himself and the world to ruin; his envy crippling his capacity to live as he was created to.

@DrFrankTurek In order to demonstrate his love, God created beings with free will who could understand it. He allowed evil, the greater the evil, the greater the love to overcome it. To those who place their trust in him, he grants life with him for ever.

@JustinBerkobien Not at all. Do you give unwavering loyalty to a party? Christians are not uniform in who they vote for. And there is no such thing as a Christian Nationalist. Do you give unwavering support to Jesus and the Bible? Does that loyalty affect your politics?

@rflanders Not at all. You’re implying defense of Trump is somehow the uniform Christian stance which is absurd. Christians should be active in politics without lording over others and without giving unwavering loyalty to a party or a politician.

Christians are supposed to prioritize the kingdom of heaven and God’s righteousness. Christian Nationalism prioritizes power on earth and its own self righteousness.

I am convinced that the reason the American church is politically weak is because of her music. Contemporary Christian music must be retired. Worship teams must stand down.

@ofctimallen He is still our mediator. And he is God. 1 Timothy 2:5. “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:18. “For through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.”

A somber thought from one of my philosopher buddies. His switch to a spiritual thought really hit my heart. “Christ was a mediator joining a fallen world and a distant god. Jesus left and no more mediator. “
