@BillShanks If you remove just 3 starts from his 2025 season, he had a 3.62 era in the year. Yes, you never want to see those starts happen, but let's not act like he wasn't servicable most of last season.

Elder had a 5.30 ERA last season, including an 8.61 ERA in an 11-game stretch in the middle of the season.
Since he appeared in the 2023 ASG, he's got a 5.47 ERA.
His success the first two games does not erase his inconsistent history. I'm glad he's doing well, but my criticism was warranted.

Absolutely love Suarez in the 7th today for two reasons.
-Mainly you throw your best relief option at the middle of their lineup and let someone else pitch to the backend of their lineup in the 8th. Don’t give their best bats a chance to get back in the game.
-Sales pitch count was fine but I liked keeping it an easier day workload wise this early in the season year with no extra rest lined up.

@gvedak He was more than serviceable last year if you remove like 4 starts. He gave up over 30 runs in 13 2/3 innings in those 4 starts.
