for the past few weeks, I've been working on a way to tell human-backed agents apart from regular bots with more and more agentic use-cases popping up soon, "block all bots" will no longer be the best strategy with agentkit, you can let bots acting on behalf of humans through
World@worldnetwork

As millions of agents start to come online, the internet needs to distinguish bot armies from the agents acting on behalf of humans. Introducing AgentKit, the human layer for agentic automation. Built on World ID, the AgentKit beta unlocks human-verified automation, a new primitive for the agent economy.

It’s indisputable Silicon Valley is the #1 place to be if you’re serious about tech “Silicon Valley has a centralizing force on talent.” Germany → Silicon Valley → Co-Founding TFH with Sam Altman in <1 year Alex Blania is a proof point for going all in on the SV opportunity & talent density Alex (@alexblania) grew up in Germany, far from the center of Silicon Valley’s tech ecosystem. He studied industrial engineering & physics, focusing on complex systems. Early in his career, he applied deep learning techniques to quantum systems. At the young age of 11 or 12 (maybe even younger), he caught his first glimpse of Silicon Valley’s rise while reading Der Spiegel, one of the largest German newspapers, which sparked his curiosity & intuition that the most consequential technological bets and highest concentration of talent, were compounding right there. Following his ambition, he later flew across the world. - 2019: First visit to Silicon Valley, met Sam Altman & Max Novendstern. Saw firsthand the speed & conviction at which frontier companies operated. - 2020: Officially moved to San Francisco. Believed proximity to concentrated talent changes everything. He was right. Since then, he & @sama have co-founded: - Tools for Humanity (@tfh_technology) + World (@worldcoin), building global proof-of-human infrastructure for 38M+ users, 17M+ verified humans - Merge Labs (@merge), a brain–computer interface research lab backed by a $252M seed round at a $850M valuation. Reflecting on the intensity of his mission, Blania shared "I'm just gonna go completely hardcore for the coming years, at least five or so. I might regret that, but so far it feels good. It's painful, but just feels important." “Isn’t that the purpose of life? I think it is, like the meaning of life. Going after, trying to be the best version of yourself and trying to take on as much responsibility as you possibly can.”

ICYMI: Brains are trending.. OpenAI made a direct investment into Merge Labs' $252M Seed at $850M valuation @merge Labs is a Brain-Computer Interface ("BCI") research lab co-founded by Sam Altman, Alex Blania, & key frontier tech leaders (below) with expertise in neuroscience, bioengineering, hardware, AI systems, & foundational research. Unlike Elon Musk's Neuralink, which utilizes surgical implants, Merge Labs is developing non-invasive, high-bandwidth brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). The company uses a combination of ultrasound, AI-driven signal interpretation, and potentially genetic engineering to read neural activity without surgery. Founding Team: Alex Blania (@alexblania) – Co-founder of World, an Altman-co-founded digital proof of human protocol; co-founder of Merge Labs. Sam Altman (@sama) – CEO of OpenAI; co-founder of Merge Labs participating in a personal capacity. Altman has been reported as likely to serve in a strategic role but not in day-to-day operational management of Merge Labs. Mikhail Shapiro (@mikhailshapiro) – Professor of Chemical and Medical Engineering at Caltech and founding scientific leader for Merge Labs. He has also served as an adviser to Forest Neurotech. Sumner Norman (@SumnerLN) – CEO of Forest Neurotech, a nonprofit research organization focused on ultrasound-based brain-computer interface technologies; also a co-founder of Merge Labs. Sandro Herbig (@sandroherbig) – Identified as a technology entrepreneur and co-founder of Merge Labs with prior systems and product experience, including work with Blania on Tools for Humanity and World. While specific current corporate title at Merge hasn’t been publicly detailed, he is recognized as part of the founding leadership team. Tyson Aflalo – Chief Scientific Officer of Forest Neurotech prior to Merge Labs; co-founder and technical lead at Merge Labs with expertise in neural engineering and ultrasound BCI research. . . . "It’s a direct investment from OpenAI, not their venture arm, so it’s an actual collaboration. As we were discussing the investment, there were many different dimensions where collaboration could make sense. One area is protein design. We’re working extensively with proteins, and that’s an area that’s broadly interesting to OpenAI. It’s one of the most compelling applications of AI — for example, the work Google did with AlphaFold. More broadly, AI has significant implications for biology and for accelerating that part of what we’re building. Another area is chips. Eventually, once we have a clear scientific understanding of what we’re building and how it will work, a major focus for many years will be on making these chips highly energy efficient."

Alex does an amazing job summarizing the criticality of proof of human and his vision for the project. The internet needs certainty in interactions between humans, agents and platforms. That certainty requires novel technical and product approaches rooted in privacy enhancing technology to deliver a robust experience to everyone - that scales globally, is inclusive, and enables integrity and trust. Watch this interview - we’d love to hear from you. We want to get this right, and want to work with the best of you to get there.
Alex Blania@alexblania

Great conversation with @MollySoShea :) Proof of Human is about to become critical infrastructure; the last couple of weeks have made clear both why and how. OpenClaw is only the first glimpse of how the internet is about to change in the coming months.

.@worldcoin CEO @alexblania says 𝕏 will not be usable in “a matter of months—maximum two years” if 𝕏 doesn’t solve the bot problem: “It’s not about combatting bots. That’s a lost cause. Rather—every human on these platforms will need some version of a proof-of-human.” “I think we’ll want to have a lot of bots on social platforms, we just need to know they are in fact, bots.” “Am I currently talking to an AI system that’s trying to change my political view, or am I talking to a human that’s also in San Francisco—so me investing the time talking about SF city policy is actually time well spent?” “Once you have very capable agentic systems also be open source, things will go quite exponential. We’re still very early.”

we live in the most interesting and important time. check out @MollySOShea 's discussion w/@alexblania to find out why
Molly O’Shea@MollySOShea

We are living in the most leveraged moment in history. Alex Blania on why he’s going all in: Breakthroughs used to move slowly. Now they compound weekly. - OpenClaw / Autonomous Agents - Brain-Computer Interfaces - Reusable Rockets - Robotaxis - Humanoid Robots - AI-Designed Biology - Hyperscale AI Data Centers - Proof of Human Infrastructure - Programmable Economies - Autonomous Defense - Next-Gen Nuclear - Singularity ? ? Alex Blania (@alexblania) Co-Founder & CEO of @tfh_technology @worldcoin with @sama "We are probably in the last innings before superintelligence. I think this is like such an infinitely leveraged moment in time where any contribution, it might make a meaningful impact, it might not, not at all, but it totally might. And looking back a couple hundred years, we've never had that. Humans thought about these kinds of problems, usually within a lifetime. Basically nothing happened. You've maybe had like one scientific idea across the entire lifetime of a human, and much more so. Like literally nothing happened. Right now, it's just a very different moment in time. It's where every day something new happens. Every week there's a new big breakthrough. And I think that will continue. And so like for me personally, it just makes the decision that right now is not the time to spend much on the social life for all of those things. And I think I'm just going to go completely hardcore for the coming years. It's painful, but it just feels important."
