Raise antibiotic free pigs in SE Minnesota. Grow corn and soybeans. Family owned anhydrous ammonia retailer on the side.

In a candid conversation Friday, @DepSecVaden of @USDA told me USDA is turning up the heat on fertilizer companies, as @SecRollins, top Cabinet officials and he met this week with major fertilizer executives at their USDA offices. Vaden not only laid out what’s happening on fertilizer, but where this goes next: • He says price gouging concerns are real, especially when 2 companies control ~90% of certain markets. • This isn’t new... while the war has caused prices to spike, he says farmers have dealt with 5+ years of high prices & tight supply • As he's meeting with fertilizer companies, some are changing their tune. • The fertilizer industry needs more competition and more production flowing to farmers. • He says there isn't a case for keeping countervailing duties on phosphate, and he's pushing to see those duties removed. • USDA needs farmers’ real-world examples (like pricing calls, timing pressure, etc.) to strengthen investigations with the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission. But here’s the part that he really wants farmers to hear: USDA wants YOUR input. They’re building a system where you can share pricing experiences anonymously. He says companies under investigation won’t know who submitted info. Vaden says it's that data that will help build stronger cases & pressure answers. "If farmers share information with USDA, their identity will be protected. Companies under investigation won’t know who provided the data," Vaden told me. USDA is signaling even tougher scrutiny, but farmer input will shape what actually happens. agweb.com/news/policy/po…

So there’s a big Morgan Wallen concert in downtown Minneapolis and all of a sudden the “I’ll never go to downtown Minneapolis because of crime” narrative doesn’t exist for the people that make that claim? 🤔

Quite a few sow units in area depopulating because of PRRS. Tried walking it off- most failed. Finding replacement gilts a challenge. It should support late summer and Oct prices.

@RyanJamesMN I miss the St. Paul Civic Center. The nostalgia is so real for that place.

The reason Denver has handled Minnesota this season and the reason the Nuggets are in control tonight is that Jamal Murray is back to his old self this year. Such a big difference

@skylarromines I think America has united behind that idea, we need our representatives to get behind it. Hopefully Khanna and Massie have enough momentum to keep the ball rolling and put them all in jail.

The chance of predicting a Patriots vs Seahawks Super Bowl was 1 in 4,800 (0.02%)😳 Things with a better chance of happening… - Rolling the same number on a dice 5 times (1 in 1,296)🎲 - Baby born on leap day (1 in 1,461)🍀 - Seeing a white deer (1 in 2,000)🦌 - Losing your luggage on a flight (1 in 3,000)🧳 - Living to 100 years old (1 in 3,777)👴 - HS player making the NFL (1 in 4,200)🏈 - Seeing someone you know at an airport in a different state (1 in 4,600)✈️ A 1 in 4,800 moment is something happening once every 13 years if you tried daily🤯
