Six Nigerians Ran an AI Deepfake Romance Scam from a Nonthaburi Riverside Condo. A Cocaine Bust Led Thai Police to Them. Thai police raided a luxury condominium on the Chao Phraya River in Nonthaburi on May 22 and arrested six Nigerian men running a romance scam ring built on AI-generated faces and fake video calls. The trail started with cocaine. In April, police arrested a Nigerian man named Patrick and three associates on trafficking charges and seized 2.5 million baht in assets. The money trail led to foreign nationals on student visas living five or six to a unit in a high-end riverside condo near Phra Nangklao Bridge, none enrolled in school, none working. Police executed three warrants on three units, forcing entry after the suspects refused to open. One man tried to climb over a balcony. Another lay hiding on a bathroom floor, texting the other units to warn them. Officers seized 18 phones, three laptops, and three bank passbooks, the phones still open to active romance scam chats. The group posed as pilots, US military officers, doctors, and engineers, built relationships with older Thai women, then claimed a valuable package was stuck in customs requiring a transfer fee. Investigators recovered AI-generated Western faces used to produce fake video calls, and "sexy chat" scripts written to push older women toward transferring money. Police said a single well-crafted line could convince a victim to empty her account. All six face initial charges of illegal association (อั้งยี่) and immigration overstay. Fraud and romance scam charges are pending.

@ZimbabweHistor2 @cliff_doctor Assimilation? You're very naïve. The Arabs had a deep hatred for Black people that they'd never allow assimilation. Black people were systematically wiped out in the Arab world. The mass castration of black men in the Arab world meant no offspring or future

ARABS AS ARCHITECTS AND EXPONENTS OF SLAVERY The Arab (or Arab-Muslim) slave trade refers to a series of long-running slave trades primarily involving Arab, Berber, and Muslim traders who transported millions of Africans (and others) from sub-Saharan Africa to North Africa, the Middle East, the Arabian Peninsula, and parts of Asia via the Trans-Saharan routes, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean. It is historically accurate to describe Arab merchants and societies as major organizers, financiers, and operators ("kingpins") of these networks, especially from the 7th century onward. Timeline and Scale Duration: It began in the mid-7th century CE, shortly after the rise and expansion of Islam into North Africa, and continued in various forms for over 1,300 years—into the early-to-mid 20th century (with some reports of persistence even later in isolated areas). This makes it far longer than the transatlantic slave trade (roughly 15th–19th centuries). Estimated Numbers: Scholars commonly estimate 9–18 million Africans were enslaved and transported through these routes (Trans-Saharan and Indian Ocean/East African). Exact figures are disputed due to the trade's longevity and incomplete records, but it was on a massive scale comparable to or exceeding the transatlantic trade's ~11–12 million. High mortality rates were common: Many died during brutal desert crossings (up to 50% in some estimates) or sea voyages, and practices like castration of male slaves (eunuchs) further reduced survivor populations. Key Routes and Operations Trans-Saharan Slave Trade: Caravans crossed the Sahara from West and Central Africa (e.g., regions in modern Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan) to North African markets in Morocco, Algiers, Tripoli, and Cairo. Arabs and Berbers managed and operated much of this, though sub-Saharan African merchants and elites participated. Slaves were captured via raids, wars, or tribute systems. Indian Ocean / East African Trade: Centered on the Swahili coast, with Zanzibar (under Omani Arab influence) as a major hub in the 18th–19th centuries. Arab traders (often from Oman) bought or raided slaves from the interior, shipped them to the Arabian Peninsula, Persia, Iraq, and beyond for labor, domestic service, or military roles. Clove plantations on Zanzibar itself used slave labor. Arab traders integrated into existing networks, supplied demand in the Muslim world for labor, soldiers (e.g., in armies), concubines, and servants. Islamic legal frameworks regulated but permitted the enslavement of non-Muslims (kafirs), often justifying raids on "infidel" African populations. Nature of the Trade and Treatment Demand: Focused more on women and children for concubinage, domestic service, and harems compared to the transatlantic trade's emphasis on male plantation laborers. Male slaves were sometimes castrated for roles as eunuchs or guards. Brutality: Marches across the Sahara were deadly due to dehydration, exhaustion, and violence. Sexual exploitation was widespread. Unlike the Americas, fewer large-scale African-descended populations emerged in the Middle East partly due to high mortality, integration, and practices like castration. Arabs as "Kingpins and Architects" Arabs (and Arabized Berbers/North Africans) were central organizers from the 7th century, leveraging Islamic expansion, trade networks, and naval power in the Indian Ocean. They dominated key markets like Zanzibar and established enduring routes. This predates significant European involvement in Africa by centuries and continued after European abolition efforts in the 19th century (e.g., British pressure on Zanzibar in 1873). They were not the absolute "inventors"—slavery and trade in captives existed in Africa and elsewhere long before—but they scaled, systematized, and sustained it on an intercontinental level for over a millennium, making them primary architects of these specific trades.

@BoogieHarrySA @WithoutHistory @MalcomEhx Allegedly? It's a fact. Russia doesn't care anything about Africa except strategic interests, business, and also to create a distance between Africa and the West. Many Africans are very easy to manipulate and deceive. Just that staged ceremony is enough!

Allegedly: Russia is recruiting Africans to fight they war against Ukraine and they put them in the front line in that war. They take your passports once you get there. Signing fee $37, 000 and monthly salary $4, 000. A lot is happening. Some are even deceived for truck driving jobs etc only to end up in war.

@DanielRegha @instablog9ja I know the congregants give their offerings to the church which is run by the pastor and we assume the money goes to his accounts somehow. So when he says he gives $12,000 offering per week and he's the pastor, whom does he give his offering to? Idk how it works

"My elder brother, finally returned from London yesterday. He didn't come back with heavy boxes or an 'abroad' accent. He came back with a small nylon bag and the same shoes he wore 12 years ago. As we sat on my thin mattress last night, sharing one small sachet of noodles, the silence was louder than our old, noisy fan. We are both in our late 30s. No wives. No kids. No house. Just two 'rich men’s sons' living like strangers in the same city where our father once owned three filling stations. When our father was alive, we didn't know what poverty looked like. But the moment he died, the 'vultures' arrived. Our uncles men our father helped suddenly claimed he owed them millions. Because there was no Will, they swept everything. They even took the cars from the compound while we were still mourning. Daniel ran to London to save us. I stayed back, doing 'laborer' work despite having a degree. For 12 years, I sent every kobo I made to him for 'papers' and 'permits.' I stayed hungry so he could succeed. But last night, Daniel cried. He told me "Brother, the more I worked in London, the more the money vanished. It’s like I was pouring water into a basket. Every time I see money, a strange bill or a police case will swallow it." Now, we are two graduates starting from zero at almost 40. We are sharing one room and one fan. Ohhh! The tears can't stop flowing even as i type this. 😭😭😭😭💔 I'm broken. There's no need hiding anymore, the suffring has gone above limit, I can't hold it anymore.. Is this just 'bad luck,' or is there something following us from our father’s house? My mind keeps contemplating with so many questions. My brother is broken, and I am tired already 😭😭"

On International Women’s Day, people celebrate women who succeed. But many forget the women who were silenced before they even had a chance. The girls told their dreams were unrealistic. The women whose ideas were ignored. Lost potential is one of society’s greatest tragedies.
