Air traffic controller gave permission for fire truck to cross active runway as Air Canada 646 was landing. Plane struck fire truck. Airport & air traffic control system stretched beyond capacity. Human error caused the accident. An available gate may have prevented tragedy.

Important note regarding the accident at LaGuardia Airport. United 2384 wanted to return to gate. Odor in back of plane. Pilot couldn’t raise anyone at United to help get him a gate. Air traffic controller tried to help. There were no gates. Pilot asked for fire truck. 1/2

@njhellsbel88978 @NFL_DovKleiman It's an option. They fitted the stadium with large snaps on the roof and they use a Tonneau cover. They just have to fly in the rails before game time. Takes about 30 minutes or so.

An unarmed Iranian ship was invited, along with the U.S., to be part of an Indian Naval exercise, and its sailors paraded on land before the president.
The U.S. at the last minute pulled out of the exercise and instead attacked the Iranian ship with a torpedo.
Breaking with all norms of civilization and warfare, we then refused to rescue the drowning survivors. The Sri Lanka Navy was left to pull the dead bodies from the water.
I am hard pressed to think of any other nation throughout history that would do something so cowardly and despicable. We are genuinely in a league of our own, and American media — mostly shrugging off the bombing of a girls school and acting as if carpet bombing Tehran is a normal military tactic — is deeply complicit.

The Iranian ship will not be where it was if we had not invited it to talk part in our Milan exercise. We were the hosts. I am told that as per protocol for this exercise ships cannot carry any ammunition. It was defenceless. The Iranian naval personnel had paraded before our president . The attack by the US submarine was premeditated as the US was aware of the Iranian ship’s presence in the exercise to which the US navy was invited but withdrew from participation at the last minute, presumably with this operation in mind. The US has ignored India’s sensitivities as the ship was in these waters because of India’s invitation. We are far from politically or militarily responsible for the US attack. Our“responsibility” is at a moral and human plane. A word of condolence by the Indian Navy ( after political clearance) at the loss of lives of those who were our invitees and saluted our president would be in order.

NEW: Two hot air balloon occupants left stranded after getting stuck 920 feet in the air on a cellphone tower in Longview, Texas.
Longview Fire Department was seen climbing up the tower to save the two occupants. It took them an hour to reach the balloon.
Both occupants were rescued and taken to the hospital.

The 2026 final game averaged 18.6 million viewers live, with 26 million in overtime.
The 1980 final game averaged 32.8 million viewers, in a country with at least 110 million fewer people! The “Miracle on Ice” game, on taped delay, averaged 34.2 million viewers!
But also, because Sports Illustrated is dead, the 2026 team isn’t going to have nearly every sports fan in America receive these two iconic magazine covers in their mailbox between now and the end of the year.
Culturally, we are paying a huge price for the massive fragmentation of our media. Iconic and unifying moments are almost impossible now.

“Deserve” is such a funny word. USA didn’t deserve to win. Canada deserved better. I didn’t deserve to get cheated on by my ex wife. I deserved to play in the NHL longer. Deserve is such an entitled word stroked by the ego for those who feel sorry for themselves and can’t face the music of harsh truth or reality. Last time I checked, life isn’t fair. Sports aren’t fair. And shit happens. What a rueful way to go about your life. Looking at your own chin in the mirror can be scary for most. And last time I checked a goalie is still a massive piece of a hockey team. Dont take the shine away from what us Americans should be happy about today. “Deserved” lol.
