@DrDangles87 @BuddJacket @DhaliwalSports @JCog88 How many fans does it take to become Canucks Nation?
English

@BuddJacket @DhaliwalSports @JCog88 You're nuts if you think it was just a Twitter reaction. The entire nation was furious and many STHs contacted the Canucks about it.
English

@TheTorontoSun @simmonssteve Did anyone ask or know details of their contracts? Gotta think he came cheap
English

From @simmonssteve: The confusing and confounding Leafs hiring of John Chayka and Mats Sundin torontosun.com/sports/hockey/…
English

@Sportsnet @jtbourne I wouldn't mind if the Oilers won another Cup, but because they've had 4 1st overall picks going back to Taylor Hall draft which is very unfair speaking as a Nuck fan, I'm rooting for the Habs.
English

How did the Edmonton Oilers get here, and where do things stand? @jtbourne has some thoughts after the Oilers' disappointing first-round elimination. sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/fi…
English

@OverDrive1050 What anyone sez today isn't necessarily what they say tomorrow so don't see the logic of asking him today to speak to something years away.
English

@BizNasty2point0 Go International rugby with reviews...show the angles the war room is looking at on the scoreboard and let us listen to the dialogue between the refs and the war room
English

@imacSportsnet Enjoyed the article but would have liked to have heard from Johnson himself.
English

Trevor Linden on GM candidate Ryan Johnson. Can a nice guy finish first?
“Pat Quinn was a good human who cared about his players and he was a pretty good general manager. I see Ryan as…a good human. But that doesn't mean he can’t make hard decisions.” sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/fo…
English

@garymasonglobe Isn't Rod Bindamour's kid in the Canes organization? don't see him having to step down cause his son is in the system.
English

@ThomasDrance Never thought I'd read a positive take from you in my lifetime, well done Thomas!
English

@ThomasDrance Not saying you're wrong, but lets see where the fans appetite is in 3 - 5 years before we start thumping our chests.
English

Has anyone else noticed how the most dire “to advocate for a rebuild in Vancouver is childish, what nonsense, revenues take a huge hit during a rebuild” warners in the national media are now commenting on how durable interest in the #Canucks appears to be in this city?
English

@Bgk1703 @OverDrive1050 @mike_p_johnson Not a bad idea but its a "as compared to" league meaning that since no other organization is doing it the Leafs won't/can't do it.
English

@OverDrive1050 @mike_p_johnson Whoever leafs hire, Gillis, Fitzgerald - offer a $1million contract per year with $2million bonus for making playoffs, $1million per round, $5million stanley cup final
Bonus. Im sick and tires of no accountability and guaranteed money. Treat it like a corporation. Make GM invest
English

"He has some thoughts. I would want to hear what he has to say." 👀
@mike_p_johnson on Mats Sundin's possible role with the Maple Leafs.
English

@OverDrive1050 @mike_p_johnson As a Nuck fan, we're praying for the #1 overall for the first time in franchise history and for the Hughes trade to turn out like the Hershall Walker trade years ago. If you're gonna pray, pray biggly!
English

"I beg to differ if Vancouver was challenging for a division title that Hughes would not still be with the Canucks."
@mike_p_johnson doesn't agree that Hughes was already on his way out in Vancouver
#Canucks
English

So, Patrik Allvin was “GM” in name only, Jim Rutherford drove the bus on nearly any consequential transaction, and he ran over Allvin today on the way out … then backed over him again. Just to be sure.
I’d say it always ends bloody in Vancouver. But that’s devoid of leadership.
Thomas Drance@ThomasDrance
"I take full responsibility for the season," says Jim Rutherford. "I head up the hockey department, but I don't make decisions for other people and Patrik had the opportunity to make his own decisions." #Canucks
English

@irfgaffar Assuming Rutherford wants to stay, wonder if they would move him into Aqualini Group and concentrate on the practise facility and other side projects? Would free up postions to bring in another experienced hockey executive to oversee the hockey ops department.
English

Speculating, but feels to me like Matthews heads into next season in a similar spot to Quinn Hughes last year. "I'm in if we're good, I'm in if there's a direction, if, if, if." We can't know what a new GM will do, but seems like you can sell him on a plan if you've got one.
Sportsnet@Sportsnet
"I can't really predict the future." Auston Matthews speaks on his future in Toronto.
English

@steeletalk That sucks! Egg salad sandwhiches at 7 Eleven in Japan are the best.
English

After all the hoopla about how "great" the egg salad sandwiches are at 7-11 - a Canadian recall has been issued due to listeria concerns.

@DonnieandDhali @DonTaylor5 @DhaliwalSports Re: the comparison to Hughes, not fair to Buium but Quinn does more dangling while Buium is more direct...both get to the same spot but it takes Quinn longer to get there
English

"I thought that kid last night, 20-year old Zeev Buium, looked wonderful in terms of skating and skill and on ice intelligence as well.."
@DonTaylor5 and @DhaliwalSports talk about an impressive night for the young #Canucks Defenseman.
linktr.ee/DonnieandDhali
English

@DonnieandDhali @DonTaylor5 @DhaliwalSports Don't disagree with your concerns, but take it down a level until you hear what the proposal is and how likely the City thinks it is for MLB approving a franchise.
English

"This was all junk by this Mayor, just junk, wasting everyone's time.."
@DonTaylor5 and @DhaliwalSports chat about Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim announcing the exploration of an MLB team

English

@imacSportsnet Fingers crossed Lekkerimaki and Cootes are able to secure full time spots next season
English

At the end of a nightmare, a California dream. The Canucks’ construction begins.
Zeev Buium: “You can tell it has changed just by the way we play. We really came together off the ice and (have) gotten to know each other and care about each other.” sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/ca…
English

@ThomasDrance @baynetrayne Vancouver and not sure how many would consider it debatable.
English

My reaction to this story is that it’s fundamentally about the “bad shit” (a technical hockey term) that happens when bad moves and bad process pile up to the point that trust between the suits and the hockey people break down in an organization.
