What does agentic coding have to do with the human knee reflex? End to end apps can now be built with a prompt. This means millions of lines of code are being generated and put into production daily. We are seeing a spike in incidents caused by AI generated code and though the first instinct is to human review all code as a response, counterintuitively, this negates the benefits of the speed of development with AI. I used the knee reflex analogy recently to describe how operations generally rely on central command (the brain), but for true automatic response, guardrails with detection and resolution need to work at the edge (knee to spine) where the magic happens.
