Booked a train ticket via IRCTC for ₹321 (Kanpur → Delhi). Ticket remained Waitlisted (WL 10) and got auto-cancelled. Facts: • Ticket fare: ₹290 • IRCTC charges deducted • Refund received: ₹250 • ₹60 deducted without any service My questions: • Why is IRCTC charging fees when ticket is not confirmed? • What exact rule allows deduction of ₹60 for a cancelled waitlisted ticket? • How is this fair to passengers? Dearest @AshwiniVaishnaw ji, Why should a RAC passenger bear full charge for 50% of a side lower seat? Isn't it unfair? Once the chart is prepared, Railways must refund 50% of the fare with interest for RAC passengers. The same source of payment can be used for the refund. Pls implement this immediately. I see many ladies and senior citizens who travel by RAC, without sleep and they pay full charge. If any of you reading this feel that this should be implemented immediately, comment with your thoughts and share until Railways makes it a fair deal for passengers. This is long long overdue. @FI_InvestIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw Railways earn more than 1250 crores rupees from Jan 2021- Jan 2024 only by auto cancelling the waitlisted e-tickets after chart preparation. This is 1.15 Cr per day earning by providing absolutely no service of any kind.

I think the railway should inform about its late schedule like why they are getting late, for the passengers inside them, like if somebody came to pick you up how long they will wait. At least people can inform the correct status.#AshwiniVaishnaw @RailMinIndia #IndianRailways
