I love Alysa Liu but her dad also deserves a medal. Arthur Liu protested the Chinese Communist Party after Tiananmen. Fled as a political refugee. Came to America in his 20s. Built a career as a lawyer. Raised 5 kids alone.
One became an Olympic gold medalist.
He is the American Dream. Close the door on stories like his, and you close the door on future gold medals too.
