Many months on a pandemic and #BritishAirways is still giving snacks for a 2h flight, so everyone can take off their mask and eat at the same time 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

A Finnish friend says there is a typically morose joke circulating around Helsinki: "So, we now have to stay 2m away from each other? Why so close?"

@estergeama Definitely this has an impact - also other local differences like the size of the care homes for elderly people mentioned here. A lot of different factors in the play which makes it difficult to find one right approach.

@ritolonen Cultural behaviour might also explain, as apparently social distancing (recommended) is not happening there at all (my friends experience). Might be that northern countries have an implicit social distancing as compared to southern europe.

Good interview but can’t agree. Are we just going to lose more lifes bc people will get TIRED of lockdown?ERs are collapsed in many places & that is a fact. It seems quite cynic to me. Obviously opening back is going to be tricky & has to be well planned youtube.com/watch?v=bfN2JW…

@estergeama Yes, everyone probably agrees the most important thing is to make sure healthcare systems don’t collapse, and that’s easier to do the earlier you start even if the measures are not as strict. In some places I think it was too late for anything else than full lockdown.

@ritolonen Yes, but deaths may increase if they are all at the same time and the system cannot cope. My friends in Sweden also say the gov guidelines say if you dont have symptoms are not infectious. Science shows 44% of transmission happens before symptoms. Among other careless measures

How come the mortality rate of #COVID19 in Germany is ~0.2% and over 3% in other places? Why not do what ever the Germans are doing, sounds like it is working 🦠
