Sony is using AI to streamline game development at its first-party studios.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered employed PlayStation’s new AI-powered animation tool, Mockingbird.
This system rapidly generates 3D facial animations from performance capture data, significantly reducing the time required for what was previously a lengthy manual process.
According to SIE President Hideaki Nishino, teams at Naughty Dog and San Diego Studio have also adopted Mockingbird for their projects.
A separate AI tool was used in the remaster to create highly detailed hair models.
Sony describes these tools as a way to automate repetitive tasks and improve productivity

@IdleSloth84_ I might resub on PC once I get through more of my Steam backlog at that, €13 was my break even point above which it wasn't worth it but I miss the variety. I would never have played P3R, Unpacking, the Coffee Talk games or the Alters without it, some of my favorite recent games.

Retail DDR5 prices in Europe are edging down slightly despite persistent global shortages driven by AI demand.
In parts of the EU, average 32GB kits peaked around €430–€470 in early February but have started showing modest declines, with some popular models from Corsair, Kingston and others dropping €50–€100 from recent highs.
This could mark the beginning of an overdue correction as sky-high prices curb retail demand and pressure inventory.
Still, costs remain 3–4× higher than mid-2025 levels, shortages continue, and major relief isn’t expected until late 2027 or later.
