@AlisaValdesRod1 Erythrocytes (RBCs) carry oxygen (O2) bound to hemoglobin (Hb) from lungs to tissues. As RBCs flow through the microcirculation, they encounter regions of lower tissue PO2 & Hb releases O2 which diffuses out of the capillaries & into the tissue. Mess that up & you're in trouble.
