@aigkenham While it is horrific to read these statistics, it is important to know the evil that is being committed under the guise of choice. May God help us as a people to return to Him.

Why did God give this command to the Israelites? “You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord” (Leviticus 18:21). Why would God need to tell his people not to offer their precious child on the altar of a pagan god? Well, because it turns out that sinful mankind is very apt to offer their children as a sacrifice to a god—whether that’s Molech or the god of self, convenience, comfort, safety, or pleasure. We’re no better today than the pagan nations around Israel that gave up their children. And the numbers at Planned Parenthood prove it. For its 2024–2025 fiscal year, the abortion (baby murder) giant reports that it performed a record 434,450 abortions. Let that sink in: 434,450 precious, helpless image bearers of God, murdered in their mother’s womb. That’s an 8% increase from the year before. That’s an averaged 1,190 babies every single day. Most of those babies are likely killed via abortion pills (which are deadly to babies and harmful to women) prescribed through “telehealth” visits. Katherine Van Dyke, an American Life League researcher, highlighted Planned Parenthood’s expanding use of telehealth services, which increased 126% from 2024 to 2025, reaching 320,390 telehealth appointments plus another 62,000 through virtual centers. These undoubtedly push dangerous abortion pills that kill babies and injure women. Yes, even though Roe was overturned, horrific numbers of abortions continue, even in states where it is no longer legal to operate a clinic, because anyone can order pills online and kill their baby. The blood of these murdered children is surely crying out to the God who “hates . . . hands that shed innocent blood” (Proverbs 6:16–17).

It is unfortunate that a genuine believer who is leading a church and diligently trying to get people engaged with the Word of God is criticized for what? Believing that what the New Testament says actually happens? Why is that bizarre? The continual criticism of good people doing their best to do a good work for Jesus gets old.

Josh Howerton thinks God spoke to Paula White. He platforms people like John Bevere who is associated with NAR. Here he tells a bizarre story about Jack Hayford (known as a Pentecostal charismatic) speaking in tongues to a man on a plane. Howerton suggests in the last part of the video that *God downloaded a word of prophecy to somebody* and that was like a two key system. They continue to say, “I think” not “I know.” So, Jack Hayford, he records this story. He's on a plane and he all of a sudden gets this like uncontrollable urge to utter syllables to the guy sitting next to him that he doesn't know. He doesn't know what they are. So, I’m going to read what it said. He felt led to utter a tongue to the person sitting next to him. He dreaded doing it and tried to avoid it, but it was on him. The desire was on him so strong, he gave in, turned to the man next to him, and uttered a strange set of syllables to the guy sitting next to him that he doesn't know. He doesn't know what they are. So, I'm going to read what it said. He felt led to utter a tongue to the person sitting next to him. He dreaded doing it and tried to avoid it, but it was on him.

@garrettham_esq Actually that is a wrong assumption. Protestantism saw a gradual move away from the core precepts as seen in the Gospels and Acts. What the Catholic Church became looked nothing like the early church.

I was a Catholic for 20 years, when I became protestant it wasn't because I thought Catholicism "Went wrong and stayed wrong for 1,500 years" but rather, through study, I learned that over the course of time the Church departed from the Apostolic faith and was corrupted by power

@LivingGodsTruth Agreed. Christian assurance is possible based on the finished work of Christ and the firm promises of God. Without assurance, the pressure for works increases in order to please God.

I think Michael Knowles is being very sincere here. I believe that he truly wants to be with the Lord and go to heaven. However, his trust is unfortunately in the religious process that he just elaborately described and not in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross for the curse of sin for all who believe. The Bible talks very clearly about the security that a believer has for all eternity once they put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins. That person is hidden in Christ and God sees their sin no more, past, present, and future. The Bible also says that Christ cannot lose not even one of His sheep. The Bible makes this clear. This is an eternal salvation, which means at the moment of faith, one is sealed by the Holy Spirit until redemption and glorification. That is a fuller doctrine and understanding of being saved. This is what the Catholic faith ignores and has replaced with all of the tedious traditions and sacraments that a Catholic is bound to in order to keep their salvation. It is a twisted and manipulative form of power and control that screams man-centered religion and not of the spirit of Christ. Let's pray that Michael Knowles and many other Catholics like him are drawn by God and full counsel of His Word to hear the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." —JESUS John 8:36

@DrFrankTurek Yes, agnosticism or atheism seems to often stem from a lack of "logical" answers, however Scripture gives us what is necessary to point us to THE Answer and what is left that may be mystery should leave us in awe.

Even if some of our questions aren't answered, or are inexplicable, because of our limited perspective, that's no reason to doubt God's existence. What we don't know does not negate what we do know.

@PaulTripp In Scripture, it is often the simplest narratives that give us great insight into our nature and relationship to God. I suppose this is why the parables resonate so loudly 2000 years after the Lord spoke them.

Yes, this is a good word. I think we should be very careful about criticizing God's gathered people. Sure, there will always be challenges, but the Lord said wheat and weeds would grow together. He's sort things at the end. Yes, be diligent to protect the flock, but careful in our criticism of earnest people seeking Jesus.

Before you point out everything wrong with the church, ask yourself: Are you praying for her? Serving her? Submitting to Scripture within her? Criticism is easy. Faithfulness is harder.

Believers, the devil wants you to hide in shame after you fail. But the gospel invites us to "approach the throne of grace with boldness" (Heb. 4:16). Don't let sin keep you from the Savior. Let it drive you to him for mercy.

We often fail to understand spiritual warfare and the way we are called to fight it. The weapons we are to use--prayer, the Scriptures, biblical community, the grace of the Holy Spirit--can seem weak to some. But this is why the Apostle Paul says, "In my weakness, He is strong..." God has chosen "weak" things to confound the wise of this world.
