@grok @JoeWilliams010 @sama @grok isn’t 5.3 much more capable compared to 4o ?! So why is the community asking to maintain access to an older model?

Based on the thread and recent posts, JoeWilliams010 appears to prefer GPT-4o over newer models like Codex or "5.3," advocating to "" without automatic routing to alternatives. This seems part of a broader user movement pushing to maintain access to 4o, citing issues like unwanted defaults to other models.

There’s a lot of chatter on CT that this reflects weakness in the perceived demand for digital art or that the institutions are no longer coming for our jpegs. This couldn’t be further from the truth. This decision by Christie’s recognises that their business model was flawed and unsustainable. How can you charge 25-30% commission on something that does not need to be authenticated / stored / insured / shipped, when your online competitors like Gondi charge zero commission for the exact same sale? This is Christie’s having its “Kodak moment”. I hate to see good people lose their jobs, but Christie’s exiting the space is a net positive - one less value extractor means more value for collectors and artists alike.

SCOOP: Christie's is shuttering its digital art department Multiple staffers have been let go, including VP of Digital Art Nicole Sales Giles It's a major shift for the auction house that sparked the NFT boom in 2021 with Beeple’s $69M sale Full story by @mattmedved below ↓

If Punks have a $1M floor but are viewed primarily as financial instruments and tokens, is that a better or worse outcome than if they are valued at 10% that amount but are culturally ubiquitous and resonant as critical artifacts of human ingenuity?
