@ShaneGoldmacher Shame on you @katieglueck and @llerer. Is THIS why you became journalists? Is THIS the best use of *New York Times* resources, sabotaging a Democratic campaign in Maine? I hope you're disgusted with yourselves, because we NYers definitely are.

WSJ: Graham Platner’s wife Amy comes to his defense after she flagged her husband’s sexually explicit texts “I know who Graham is. I know the man I married and the husband he has been to me on the best and the worst days of my life. That hasn't changed, and it won't.” #MaineSenate

I don't think the anti-Graham Platner folks realize that this oppo dump just makes people dislike the leaker for violating the trust of Platner's wife and humiliating her, a private citizen, in public for purely political reasons.

Platner’s former campaign director having apparently been so horrified by whatever she saw up close and personal in her time closely working with him that she not only quit her job but also nuked her future chances of finding employment in her chosen field by trying to keep him out of Congress from the outside is incredibly telling, yes

I'd just say that if the reason you don't want to support a candidate is because he and his wife chose not to share that they went through marriage counseling to deal with infidelity, that's your choice. But I do think there are other factors in the race that will have more of a direct impact on your life.

It’s no one’s fucking business what happened in Graham & Amy’s marriage before he was ever a candidate for office. There should be no place in our politics for incompetent, opportunistic operatives who violate privacy, betray trust, and prioritize vengeance over decency.
