We won’t stop telling Raed’s story. Raed is one of our regular beneficiaries at The Sameer Project - his struggles are a true reminder of the cruelty some in Gaza continue to endure every day at the hands of the occupation. chuffed.org/project/136892… Recently, on March 29 and 30, we returned to Raed and his family in Gaza City, when his mother asked for cabbage to make a special Palestinian dish. We not only fulfilled this request but included basic food items like fresh vegetables and fruits, along with cleaning and household supplies. Raed’s family sat together and ate their mother’s cooking - Palestinian malfouf, stuffed cabbage - not with meat, but with rice, and even that in these conditions, felt like a luxury. Three years without this familiar meal. Raed lost his legs and left arm after being targeted by the occupation while collecting firewood. His life has shifted from simple dreams to daily hardship, marked by deep physical and psychological pain and overwhelming living conditions. So when the opportunity arises to fulfill a simple request - a family meal together, of course we will support and of course we will show you the parallel of the strength but pain that those like Raed live through. The total cost of 2 food parcels, a hygiene parcel, vegetable and fruit, large cabbages, and prayer clothes for his mother were $296 after 11% commission.
