I built a native app with AI. The Deposito app is live in the App Store. Part I. Live app: apps.apple.com/ua/app/deposit… I'm a product designer. I never worked that closely with SwiftUI or iOS development in general. I followed guidelines, used design kits, understood the platform’s logic — but never touched the code. A few months ago, I rented two self-storage units to clear space at home. Each unit is 4 square meters, with racks and boxes. I tried organizing everything in a spreadsheet, but the experience was too painful to be useful. I opened Cursor — and decided to build a tool myself. Budget: $200 Time: 3 months Tools: Xcode, Cursor (Claude Sonnet 4), Figma, ChatGPT Here is what we did: — CRUD for Rooms, Boxes, Items, ToDos — Paywall screens, subscription logic — Search engine — Animations and Haptics (that was amazing) — Token-based design system, accessibility features (High Contrast WCAG AA, VoiceOver, Dark mode, Accessibility labels) — Import CSV → Parse → Export CSV — iCloud sync, FaceID — Flashlight ChatGPT also helped with the icon and a reference image: I asked for an orthographic warehouse with racks, boxes, and a bear. I redrew the result from JPG to SVG. I’ve always wanted to build and ship my own tools — small pet projects that could also bring in a bit of extra cash. With AI, that dream became realistic almost instantly, as soon as I understood what current models are capable of. That led to writing a short manifesto, which I’ll share in Part II.
