If you have a memorial and someone comes and desecrates it, are you not allowed to stop them from dumping paint all over your work? Is blocking them considered crossing a legal line? Do you just have to just watch the vandalism happen?

@LPNH If this happened at an Office Depot, as I've seen reported, then it's different from a small bakery not wanting to bake a cake. This seems to be two employees not doing their jobs because of politics and that is not condoned by the corporation.
