From experience you usually offer a soft opening question:
“What are your thoughts?”
“Sum up your emotions?”
The fact the country was euphoric yet TT wasn’t happy needed to be addressed.

Clarke only presented Jude with negativity from Tuchel. When we make mistakes, we apologise and move on. Claiming it wasn’t a mistake by Clarke is BS.

Love Harry Kane, but it wasn’t Gabriel Clarke who said England’s performance was poor, it was Thomas Tuchel. If managers show raw honesty like that - which I loved - of course any proper
journalist is going to ask the players what they think of what he said!

@TigerDor @robbopalmer Jude has a bit of a ‘me against the world’ mentality - it’s not uncommon in elite level sports - it did look a bit like Clarke decided to poke that because he was unhappy with how his Tuchel interview went

@robbopalmer Not for me. I have no issue with his questions to TT . It’s the fact he chose only a small part of what TT said and gave no context when questioning JB. Just think it was unnecessary and overly provocative after such a tough, well fought game.

Confused about the reactions to Gabriel Clarke. Particularly with the tuchel interview he just…asked some straightforward questions and got the replies he did?
With the Bellingham one maybe he could have given extra context but he broadly portrayed Tuchels comments accurately?

The reason most are unhappy with Clarke is he then got a bee in his bonnet and when interviewing Jude decided to ignore anything positive Tuchal said and just go with “Tuchal isn’t happy with you” - just all negative stuff - it looks like shit stirring

@itvfootball @gabrielclarke05 People having a go at Clarke but it’s a reasonable question. If it’s not mentality then what is it? I think he was surprised by Tuchel’s initial negative assessment. He can’t (or won’t) tell us why England aren’t performing as he wants them to so we’re not supposed to ask? 🤷♂️

@PeterJHerron He never created a single chance before the first break and Rashford was their best player up to that point but the ratings showed Jude as the best player. Terrible ball control lackluster passing just mediocre until his goal which overshadowed his terrible performance.
