I have no interest in hard truths or being encouraged to look at my own actions. That is just not who I am as a person.

@robbopalmer @TigerDor NP is a bully and he acted like a complete prat that day. Not really relevant to this incident though. Happy to accept Clarke just got it wrong but these claims he did nothing wrong and fans that are unhappy want cheerleaders are a complete joke

@TigerDor @sdaveak47 You mean NP not Gabriel? NP tore a strip off the us on air for asking him if a report from BBC Leicester was true that he was heading there! Then when he’d finished media duties shook our hands and said it was his last day at City!!!!!

And no criticism of the post match interview. They are a modern necessity & a thankless task for a reporter Gabriel Clarke is the best. Asks real questions & reacts sharply to replies Bucking the trend of the cosy cheerleading who can have a set of prescribed, soft questions
Rob Palmer@robbopalmer

Superb response by captain Harry Kane who measures his word like his fine finishes. It is Team England despite some media trying to create a divide Tuchel is refreshingly honest Bellingham brilliantly forthright Kane calm & considered No criticism of the post match interviews

@robbopalmer @TigerDor Gaslit means being manipulated into doubting your own perception of events. Our issue is that Gabriel only put forward Tuchels negative comments about the team to Jude. Do you acknowledge that happened?

@sdaveak47 @TigerDor Not sure what gaslit means but… From experience you usually offer a soft opening question: “What are your thoughts?” “Sum up your emotions?” The fact the country was euphoric yet TT wasn’t happy needed to be addressed. Although I think the question may have been better phrased

@robbopalmer @TigerDor I know what was said, I won’t be gaslit on this. As a starting point, do you agree that when talking to Jude, Gabriel only put forward Tuchel’s negativity towards the team?

@sdaveak47 @TigerDor Respectfully disagree Scribe his questions and see what he asked. It was just one of those awkward moments. We all have the and Gabriel is the best and most experienced. Unlike the trend to get camera-friendly reporters who ask pre-prepared questions.

@TigerDor @robbopalmer It does look like he was deliberately trying to get a rise out of Jude (which he knew he wouldn’t get with Kane). Being generous I’d like to think Clarke just lost his head and had a bad day at the office. I don’t like journo’s claiming those unhappy want cheerleaders.

@piersmorgan No surprise to see you being a twat about this too. Clarke only presented Jude with negativity from Tuchel. When we make mistakes, we apologise and move on. Claiming it wasn’t a mistake by Clarke is BS. All @England fans should just mass block any journo that says it’s fine.

@TigerDor @robbopalmer Jude has a bit of a ‘me against the world’ mentality - it’s not uncommon in elite level sports - it did look a bit like Clarke decided to poke that because he was unhappy with how his Tuchel interview went

@robbopalmer Not for me. I have no issue with his questions to TT . It’s the fact he chose only a small part of what TT said and gave no context when questioning JB. Just think it was unnecessary and overly provocative after such a tough, well fought game.

@robbopalmer Kane too savvy to get drawn into that. Clarke presented Jude only the negative comments from Tuchel - if you think fans unhappy with this only want cheerleaders you are being wilfully blind.

@GOWoodward As this has blown up over the past couple of days, all I’ve heard has been media folk defending Clarke. They always protect their own. England should refrain from talking to ITV from now on.

Jim White is an absolute twat and he’s either being an obtuse twat or he’s just a thick twat. I’m no fan of Jordan but he’s spot on here, Clarke had his arse in his hands because Tuchel was a bit spiky with him so he decided to stir and he’s also a twat.

'Plenty of reporters wouldn't have put the Tuchel comments to Bellingham. Clarke is pure old school, and elicited a very telling reaction out of the England superstar.' I've written about Gabriel Clarke in my new World Cup on TV column for @SLSport_: sportinglife.com/football/news/…

@CallumCMason Clarke making a prat out of himself in front of Tuchel is fine Everyone is 100% more annoyed about Jude - looked like intentional shit stirring because he got his feelings hurt Zero accountability after, no sorry I f’d up a bit, just you lot saying I saw nothing wrong

Confused about the reactions to Gabriel Clarke. Particularly with the tuchel interview he just…asked some straightforward questions and got the replies he did? With the Bellingham one maybe he could have given extra context but he broadly portrayed Tuchels comments accurately?
HLTCO@HLTCO

It could all have been handled so much better by Gabriel Clarke and instead, there’s now a storm in a teacup for absolutely no reason, going into one of the biggest games in English football’s living memory.

@IanOsakaian @itvfootball @gabrielclarke05 It was a poor question. The reason most are unhappy with Clarke is he then got a bee in his bonnet and when interviewing Jude decided to ignore anything positive Tuchal said and just go with “Tuchal isn’t happy with you” - just all negative stuff - it looks like shit stirring

@itvfootball @gabrielclarke05 People having a go at Clarke but it’s a reasonable question. If it’s not mentality then what is it? I think he was surprised by Tuchel’s initial negative assessment. He can’t (or won’t) tell us why England aren’t performing as he wants them to so we’re not supposed to ask? 🤷‍♂️

@PeterJHerron He never created a single chance before the first break and Rashford was their best player up to that point but the ratings showed Jude as the best player. Terrible ball control lackluster passing just mediocre until his goal which overshadowed his terrible performance.
