One of the things that puzzles me about the Leftist videos I see from Minnesota is that an obviously dangerous situation will occur, and rather than immediately flee from that situation as all sensible civilians would do, some Karen or Todd with an iPhone just stays there, screaming and yelling. Why did people lose an understanding of danger? Why did people lose an understanding of not purposely seeking danger? Why did people lose an understanding of how to avoid danger? When did Main Character Syndrome and a belief that there are no consequences for bad behavior become a norm? I think the below chart is a big part of the explanation.

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

We do not operate that way. That’s the difference. Nothing but thoughts and prayers from our side.

The sitting governor of the largest state in the United States is inciting violence against a top White House official, Stephen Miller. At what point does it stop?

Charlie was a legit threat out to 23 ft. Similar game to Dirk and KD. If he’d had 4-5 more inches, he might be dropping 20-10-5-2 in the league right now.

A conservative continuing to demonstrate they lack understanding of the difference between private and public. The Woke yell at you on Twitter. Republicans use the full force of the government to silence you.
Ross Douthat@DouthatNYT

The woke were warned their tools could be turned against them but couldn't imagine history's arc bending rightward. (I struggled to imagine it myself.) Now populists facing the same warning keep implying no future censorious left could exceed what we've had already. (We'll see.)

Absolutely pitiful. The Constitution is most vital when times are most contentious. The First Amendment exists precisely because the founders knew there would be times when free speech would be deeply unpopular. This is one of those times.
Taniel@Taniel

GOP Senator Cynthia Lummis: "Under normal times, in normal circumstances, I tend to think that the First Amendment should always be sort of the ultimate right... I don't feel that way anymore." semafor.com/article/09/18/…

... but guess what, it wasn't all that long ago that people thought planets moved differently from stars because they were occupied by gods. Or that lightning and thunder were created by anger among gods.

Adding later: the "weird shit happens so there must be a God" is also a painfully stupid argument. That assumes science and humanity have pretty much explained all of nature, so anything we can't explain must be supernatural ...

Hey @jonfavs nice chat with Ross Douthat. I'm very religious (about to do morning prayers) but I can't believe you let him get away with the "God must exist because the way the universe turned out is very unlikely" argument. That's a very dumb argument and here's why:

@miamivandynyu @donmcgowan @SteveWitkoff @WSJ "I had no access to my personal devices until I returned from my trip." He's saying I didn't use Signal in Moscow, because I only use Signal on my personal device, which I didn't have with me. So when he responded to the group chat, he did so on a personal, unsecured device.

@donmcgowan @SteveWitkoff @WSJ Nowhere in his post does he say what you claim. You asserted that in the total absence of any actual information. Since your reading comprehension seems limited, let me put it simply: you just made that 💩 up.

I am incredulous that a good newspaper like the @WSJ would not check with me as to whether I had any personal devices with me on either of my trips to Moscow. If they had, they would have known the truth. Which is, I only had with me a secure phone provided by the government for special circumstances when you travel to regions where you do not want your devices compromised. That is why CBS News reported that Goldberg himself said that he “has not recounted Witkoff making any comments in that group chat until Saturday, after he left Russia and returned to the U.S.”. Guess why? Because I had no access to my personal devices until I returned from my trip. That is the responsible way for me to make these trips and that is how I always conduct myself. Maybe it is time for media outlets like the Journal to acknowledge when some of their people make serious reporting mistakes like this. I would appreciate it if the WSJ and other media outlets check with me the next time they make serious allegations. Thank you. @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @JDVance @SusieWiles @PressSec @marcorubio @SecRubio @michaelgwaltz @PeteHegseth @SecDef @TulsiGabbard @DNIGabbard @StephenM @jaredkushner @seanhannity @CIADirector @DonaldJTrumpJr @EricTrump

.@SteveWitkoff was provided a secure line of communication by the U.S. Government, and it was the only phone he had in his possession while in Moscow. If the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board cared about the truth, they could have reached out to our team for comment before running these lies. This is classic Fake News from an outlet clearly determined to knock Steve Witkoff, who is a great patriot working effectively on behalf of President Trump to secure world peace.
