@GreggsOfficial visited the coatham Mundeville store located in Shell Garage this morning. One poor lass working on her own, no bacon, no sugar for coffee, queue almost out the door. Shelves were looking bare as well. Might be worth checking in with them.

@ProfBrianCox Could there be a way of launching another probe to act as a relay? It seems like a great way to establish communication through the solar system but being the uneducated the practicalities might not be suitable.

It will be a sad day when we lose contact with the Voyagers - they’ve been communicating with us from deep space since I was 9 years old! I watched them launch, watched them arrive at Jupiter, Saturn and, in the case of Voyager 2, Uranus and Neptune. I remember when Voyager 1 returned the Pale Blue Dot photograph. They feel like old friends and I do occasionally think about them out there in the darkness. Contact with Voyager 1 was lost and then re-established earlier this week using the low power S-band transmitter on the spacecraft that had not been used since 1981! Astonishing. That’s before Duran Duran released the Rio album :-) !!

@My_Metro I get that. I saw the news yesterday. Seems once again poor planning of maintenance is an issue. Large trees near over head cable should be assessed and dealt with to prevent this. But it also shouldn’t affect the south of the river. Surely they can be turned at some point?

@robdangergreen A tree has fallen and brought down approx 500m of overhead line cable, due to this trains are suspended between Tynemouth and Shiremoor. Trains on the rest of the yellow line are not to timetable as trains can not run to their usual timetable. Sorry for the issues ^ES

@My_Metro so to get to monument the board at Hebburn says 20 min wait, the help point says 2 mins, the person at other end of help point says 10 mins but the train hasn’t left South Shields yet. What is happening this morning? How can the network be in such a poor state?
