@copyconstruct My experience with “if you awesome in this you mist be awesome in that too” is trust based decision and not competency based one. I can’t quote the socpsychology phenomena’s name but I remember I learned about it long time ago.

If anything the last few years and months have taught us, it’s that being good at one thing doesn’t make someone well-suited or even qualified to do something totally different. Maybe “experience” and “expertise” isn’t quite as meaningless as some people think it to be?

@slace In Ireland you can approximate a person’s age by the lowest price of a bag of Tayto crisps that they can recall. For the record I remember when Tayto crisps were 12 cents and also (for my pain) web dev with IIS 6.

Soooo… it seems I am also a victim of the Twilio layoffs. I’ve spent just over 8 years there, so this comes as a bit of a blow. Hoping to use the weekend to forget what’s happened and then pick myself up next week.
