@TheCartoonLoon Blue voters are under the illusion that personally voting blue saves their kids. You have one vote in billions the odds that your vote sways the votes in any way are basically zero . So pick red and live and be there for your kids if they pick red or if the majority swings blue.

@In_awe_of_God You personally pressing blue won't save anyone you have one vote in billions whether you vote red or blue your vote is basically insignificant it won't sway the tide. The best thing you can do is press red and live for yourself and your loved ones

Normal people’s thought process: 1st thought: I have to press blue to save others 2nd thought: Wait a minute, red is saving ones one life so everyone could save themselves 3rd thought: Many won’t push red, so I have to press blue to save others
SimonnichtPetrus@In_awe_of_God

> If all press blue, everyone lives > If all press red everyone lives > The realistic option isn’t that all press the same > If not everyone presses the same majority blue is by far the better outcome > Everyone should press blue

@klaptenning @Mendokse8 @canis_nix @3RenChengHu One vote influences but does not sway the vote in any direction voting blue will not save anyone because your single vote won't move the tide. Elections depend on what the masses think and you have virtually no control over that so just vote red and live

@Mendokse8 @canis_nix @3RenChengHu No. Every vote influences the result. If you don’t vote then of course you can’t influence the result. Claiming that one vote doesn’t influence the result comes from a lack of understanding of basic mathematics. The votes are counted one by one and every one influences the result

@lyvidian1 @michal_ptacnik @WhickTv U won't tho you have one vote which won't sway the tide so the best thing you can do is vote red and try to convince everyone you love to vote red to guarantee your safety.

I'm a blue button pusher. Reasons in no necessary order: 1) Many people I love and care for will press blue. Me pressing blue has a chance of saving them, me pressing red does not 2) I would feel bad if I contributed, in however small a way, to the direct death of a non-zero number of people 3) I believe most people will, when it comes down to it, push blue. Pushing blue has the greatest chance of *everyone* surviving.
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@redtachyon Okay: you push red. Red wins by one vote. You are now morally culpable for 3 billion deaths.

Why do people treat this as some kind of a dunk? If I vote red, and then blue wins, why should I be coping about anything? I don't give a shit. Buttons are pressed, everyone lives, cool. I'm not making a prescription of "everyone should press red", I'm just choosing for myself.

@ChadNotChud statistically speaking you're vote won't sway the tide remember you have one vote . This means whether you vote red or blue the results will basically remain the same so the sane choice is obviously red.

every time this goes around I’m honestly flabbergasted by this justification for picking “red” everyone won’t do that. like that’s just an empirical fact. moreover the fact that there’s discourse about it should immediately prove that to you. many, many people will choose blue

If Blue lost, after all the "credulous suckers" were killed, expect mass red suicides from the loss of loved ones who made the "mistake" of chosing empathy. "My vote wouldnt have changed the outcome" or "they made an illogical choice" would only salve the truly hardest heart.

@FCopernicium @JustinMacmahan . The fear of death is a powerful motivator and betting against that is dumb . Remember you have one vote and it statistically won't affect the vote result but it can guarantee life for you

@JustinMacmahan Lots of people would defect to blue. It's easy to be a "keyboard warrior", but when you look at the buttons ahead of you and realize that pushing red is a vote to kill half the world, most will back out.

It’s crazy how many people believe this 54% vote would hold up in real life. We clearly learned nothing from the last election. Nobody voting red in the poll would defect to the altruistic choice, but many blue voters will defect to red with their life at stake. Blue would lose

@unit_accord @S_____C______ @TheOmniLiberal I understand enough to know that millions of people won't vote rationally this could be due to mental illness, religious beliefs, age(either too young or too old), hatred towards other groups etc and I refuse to put my life in their hands

@robert__254 @S_____C______ @TheOmniLiberal That’s a toddler. Most of them don’t speak yet. They’ll vote randomly. Voting red is to wipe out half of them, half our children, and other vulnerable people, be it sick or color blind or whatever. Vote to kill mom, I guess.
