If I could go back in time I'd conclude my contracts exam with: "Both instructor and student have had the opportunity to review the caselaw. Therefore the usual rule of exam grading that ambiguities in an answer are construed against the student, does not apply to this exam."

@JezziiB Very, very few pro-lifers want to ban termination of ectopic pregnancies. Every movement has its extremists. The pro-abortion side includes a few people who believe you should be able to euthanize an infant, already born, with disabilities. I would not say "they" want that.

Boomers seem to forget that fast food used to be a normal, everyday expense for them because it was affordable. You could get a burger easily on minimum wage, it wasn’t some fancy treat you had once a year as a reward for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.

@KennethKirkPC @GoldieAuH20 @MaryPeltola He literally ran to the left of Bernie sanders in the 2020 presidential election. In a lot of ways (mostly economic), the current Democratic Party is to the right of where it was in the 60s-80s. Either way you’re wrong with that particular example

You might’ve heard that ‘chai tea’ is redundant because ‘chai’ in much of India (specifically Hindi) means ‘tea.’

Reagan was considered a déclassé, bigoted, personally aggrandizing, hard-right joke of a candidate who was every moron’s first pick in the primary. His reputation as a grandfatherly moderate statesman is entirely retrospective. He’d murder a modern GOP primary, easily.

Gen X here... I remember going to McDonald's for birthday parties & on rare occasions w/ my family for a treat. Eating out was NEVER an everyday occurrence... not even weekly. Months would go buy w/ nothing but grocery store bought food. Where are these people getting their info?

@KennethKirkPC @HabCorpLinguist Also as the chief he gets to decide who writes the opinion when he’s in the majority, right? So in cases when he disagrees with the majority he perhaps has more incentive to join them anyway and write the opinion more narrowly than the others would have liked

Today's 8-1 SCOTUS decision in Havana Docks v. Royal Caribbean Cruises is the first time Elena Kagan has ever been the lone dissenting vote. By contrast: Clarence Thomas has been the lone dissenting vote in 52 cases. Sonia Sotomayor has been a solo dissenter 18 times.
