The Arkadiko Bridge was built over 3000 years ago during the Mycenaean Period. Potentially the oldest bridge in existence, it is still used today.

The moment of extraction of a 2nd-century A.D. marble head believed to depict Apollo from the inner wall of Fethiye Castle in Türkiye. This rare find is now on display at Fethiye Museum.

Got back last night and just finished uploading my photos to my server. Just picked out one, the beautiful village of Water Newton. Looks idyllic and, apart from the noise of the A1 it really is. Imagine living at that house!

I had assumed that this was a planter — now I see that it was always really a bespoke dust-bath venue for silkie hens

The National Archaeological Museum in Athens has so many amazing treasures from all over Greece that it's overwhelming in scale, a bit like the British Museum or the Louvre. The Jockey of Artesimion was the highlight for me with incredible detail on the 2,100 yearol old bronze.

This is so good. And no, it's not AI. Timelapse of the building of the 4,500-year-old Neolithic hall near Stonehenge. Mesmerising. Imagine what it would be like if we could show this video to the ancestors. © English Heritage

A #Roman mosaic portrait of a woman - probably not a famous or mythical woman, just an ordinary person. It was found in #Pompeii, & made in the late C1st BC - so she probably died before the devastation Vesuvius would unleash on her city in AD 79 #Archaeology #MosaicMonday

Hot coloured chiffon blazes in layers, caught at neck and wrist with jewelled bands. Marc Bohan for Dior created this 1967 Bayadère dress famously worn by Grace Kelly who looks wistful here @MuseeDior #fashionhistory

There was quite a breeze by the sea, and the water was lovely and cold — the walk from Cley back to Blakeney, though, was definitely on the warm side
