@SenDuckworth Thank you Sen. Duckworth! Please do anything you can to persuade Sen. Durbin not to give in to empty GOP promises. I have been dealing with cancelled flights and delays all day but I would do it for a month not to sell out those who need help the most.

Trump and Republicans refuse to fight for American families, but I refuse to give up on them. I simply cannot vote to do nothing to help protect them from Trump’s vindictive efforts in exchange for a vague promise from the least trustworthy Republican party in our nation’s history. This is the time to keep fighting to bring costs down and protect the American people.

I’ve had a chronic cough for about 40 years. In the waiting room at the pulmonary doctor today, I was coughing, and everyone was staring at me. It’s the pulmonary doctor’s waiting room!

@AshleyGWinter When my daughter was a toddler she always wanted to stand by the front door to poop in her diaper. I felt like such a genius when I moved her potty chair by the front door and she gladly used it. She’s now a successful 31 year-old woman so I guess it worked!

My 2 year old was wildly amped up & didn't want to go to sleep and I told her to say goodnight to all The Colors one by one and I quietly turned out the light and crept out of the room and it totally worked and I feel like a genius.

@broadwaybabyto On New Year’s Day my brother’s 64 year-old wife felt poorly enough to go into the ER. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died on January 19. She also left behind young adult daughters. Everything possible should be done to fight this cruel disease.

I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer when I was 19. She was only 47. My grandmother also died from it at 53. When Mom was diagnosed, she sat me down and said she knew exactly what I was feeling because she felt the same way when her Mom was dying. 🧵

@robertneuhaus Hello!!! Word on the street is punctuation is a tell for many but I think it’s only if you’re not known for using it. I think we’re good. (Notice that I used two spaces after the period on it like Gen X taught me)

I don't use AI....I abhor it but I want to make one thing clear....I use - when I write. I like dashes as much as the Oxford comma. Thank you for respecting my privacy in this difficult time.

Celebrating 48 years of ‘Terrapin Station’ today 🐢⚡The Grateful Dead’s first studio album on Arista Records was produced by Keith Olsen and recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. It incorporates orchestral elements like strings, horns, and choirs—most notably on the title suite “Terrapin Part 1.” Robert Hunter and John Barlow collaborated closely with the band on the songwriting, and a few of the tracks were road-tested before recording. As Bobby Weir later recalled, “Fortunately we had a chance to play [‘Estimated Prophet’ and ‘Terrapin Part I’] three times onstage and it made a huge difference...Then we came back and we knew what the songs were about.” The album’s cover art, featuring the iconic dancing terrapins, was created by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, using original illustrations by Heinrich Kley. ‘Terrapin Station’ remains one of the Dead’s most ambitious studio efforts, blending the band’s improvisational roots with a new level of production. Which track are you looking forward to revisiting today?

@AshleyGWinter As a healthy and active 68 yo male I’m concerned that in two years time I’m going to be left hanging and denied potentially life-saving testing because of flawed and outdated medical advice.

I have a blended view of this (AUA, SUO, NCCN, AAFP etc) It has more to do with life expectancy than calendar age, but if you forced me to say an age, I would tell you: If your PSA is under 3 at age 75 your lifetime risk of developing clinically significant prostate cancer is nearly 0. When we know the size of the prostate, we can get even more personalized about recommending PSA screening cessation. I can only speculate about the Biden situation, but if in fact Biden is an edge case… people will want to generalize from the edge case and that’s not advisable.

No other country has this absurdity except the USA. Every nurse's aide carefully cleaning patients and taking care of Foley catheters for minimum wage is creating more healthcare value than all the "healthcare" executives paying themselves Wall Street salaries to produce systemic failure. @DutchRojas @realdocspeaks @DrDiGiorgio @DrBruggeman

I remember the night with great sadness. It was 3 am on a freezing winter day, and we had a patient who needed emergency surgery. We couldn't proceed to surgery; we had the surgeon, the OR team, and anesthesia, but we were missing one crucial group. We had no insurance executives, no hospital administrators, and no one from CMS. There wasn't a middleman in sight! Without them, we couldn't function, and the patient expired. This is the fantasy that the middlemen push; we obviously don't need them and never have.

Peter Simon caught the band backstage during their five-night run at the Palladium in NYC, which took place this week in 1977.

@hwinkler4real Once I was in a store with my older brother and there was a planter in the shape of a head and he told me that it was a guy who had swallowed a seed and a plant grew out of his head. I was terrified of eating any kind of seed for years after that.
