Alberta has 5 refineries producing ~575,000 barrels/day. Australia—a G20 country—has just 3 refineries producing ~235,000 barrels/day and relies heavily on imports. Let that sink in. Alberta is already more energy self-sufficient than entire countries. That’s the strength we’re working with in support of Alberta independence.

We are a major producer of nitrogen fertilizer—one of the most critical inputs for modern agriculture—and export significant volumes every year. That gives us a strong foundation for agricultural and food security. In an uncertain world, Alberta is not exposed in the same way as others. We have the resources, production capacity, and expertise to support ourselves.
