Pleased to catch up with the Snettisham Short-toed Lark yesterday — it spent most of the evening feeding along the strandline before moving to the footpath, where it showed beautifully!

After three seasons of pelagics off Wells without much reward, we finally dug something out on today’s trip as this gorgeous intermediate juv Long-tailed Skua showed well with a young Arctic while we were steaming about 1.5m off Titchwell Great comparison shots by @davidjrbratt

Needless to say DRB and I had an exceptional wknd away in the Netherlands! Highlights inc. Spectacle Eider, 1000s of Barnacles and White-fronts, 3 Black Woodpeckers, 8 Smew, Pygmy Cormorant, Pacific Diver, Bewick's Swans, Black-necked Grebes and 6 Spoonbills

At the Goose fields of Oudeland van Strijen we did find this Ross's Goose but upon a quick check of waarneming.nl it appears to be a known escape present since early December.

Goosing in the Netherlands was next level. More White-fronted Geese than I've ever seen. 10ks of Barnacle Geese as well as several large flocks of Brent. All grazing happily by the roadside & easy watching from the car. No hedges to look thru & no hills to hide behind!

@robertsjsmith @msabirder Yes Arne probably best at this time of year though birds also seen recently at Lytchett Bay (Rock Lea viewpoint), Middlebere (Avocet Hide) and Brand’s Bay. Also Holes Bay I think.

Birders of Twitter, We're down in Poole this weekend, and I'd like to try and see some of the wintering Spoonbill. I note from today that 15 were at Shipstal Point and 25 were a few days ago. Is this a regular spot and my best place to try? Thanks in advance!

One from a couple of weeks back - a brutish juvenile Yellow-legged Gull from a pelagic out of Wells-next-the-Sea.

Another fall of birds yesterday afternoon had me heading to Waxham after work. In a little over two hours, I recorded 50+ Wheatear, 6 Redstart, 3+ Whinchat, 5 Pied Fly, Tree Pipit, and 5 Spot Fly.

Oh, how time flies! Today marks 10 years full time with the NWT 😯!

Also this photo 😍 - sat on a log watching the sun go down over the saltmarsh with mates, having just seen a shit ton of birds. Even with nigh on no light behind us fresh in Pied Flys, Spot Fly and Redstarts feed away on the woodland edge. The ultimate birding goal!

Escaped the house for a bit today and had a short walk around some local fen/ alder carr where White-barred Clearwings were fairly numerous during a short spell with the TIP lure...

Does anyone have any campsite recommendations for near Dungeness, please? I'm thinking of a mini-mothing getaway next month...

A species on my radar to rediscover at Hickling - the nationally scarce Marsh Pea (Lathyrus palustris).

Had to go for a walk after watching that dross last night... no sign of the Caspian Tern at Hickling, but like buses, another Sandwich Tern dropped on to Brendans Marsh!
