My motto for this era: John Dee@iohndee There is nothing I can say about the current iteration of the American government that is simultaneously harsh enough and that won't get me into trouble, so I shall say nothing at all.

Remember this one? On June 3 of last year, I posted the video showing 22 year old Paul Wert sitting on a bench outside the CVS store where he worked. He had just gotten off work. The store had closed about 7 minutes earlier...

@st_louis_stan Outsiders needed to say this to shock the people of St. Louis. There are still some of us refusing to say this to one another. Face facts. This is real. The city is a dump.

St Louis and other Midwest city's downtowns will never improve because the first step to fixing things would involve the libtard city government asking the scary question of "what can we do about all of these anti-social criminal black teenagers who cause all of the trouble"
Annie Frey@anniefreyshow

Mets broadcasters trash St. Louis on air: “No people anywhere.” Annie says it's completely classless. You don’t visit another team’s town and rip the city like that. Would Cardinals announcers trash NYC’s crime, homelessness & chaos? #STLCards #LGM

@NotMoriarty1 @johnbryanesq My post offered no illogical conjectures. A random officer might have let him go on. This officer was belligerent; I don't think this one would have let the man go. At the point of returning the license, the officer could have continued to search for pc. It's easy.

@robertsldffly @johnbryanesq Oh, he would’ve most definitely run him for warrants, but the cop would have absolutely no reason to arrest him if he would have applied that is my entire point. You can’t make conjectures that aren’t logical.

@ChrisOn50570948 @mirandadevine There's the problem. She failed to clean house, she let these people stay. That's one of the reasona her DOJ failed to act in so many cases. Her attitudes probably were thoroughly integrated with those of her underlings.

This is the musket I got the other day. It’s British, but was used by an American in the Revolutionary War. I think it was probably taken off a dead or captured redcoat… 🧵

@BeverlyBehlmann @DavidAmelottiTV @KMOV You and I don't know how many other people will move out of the county if there's ever a unification. In five years, the county would likely lose 150k in population.

City vs. County… or something bigger? On Forward, STL is at a crossroad, rethinking the very lines that divide us. County Executive Sam Page shares a vision for bringing the region closer together… and what it could mean for YOU. @KMOV Is it time to erase the boundaries?

@PermanentUn @CitySceneSTL The trend of failure started in the 1950s. St. Louis has been failing because the city was arrogant, the leadership was corrupt, government was overly bureaucratized, and the city population was too dense. People started leaving during the 1950s. Failure is real.

@CitySceneSTL The locals who do this are an average age of 65, generally not much going for them. They should be ignored most of the time, and gently but firmly corrected if they want to get too mouthy about it. They have a strong personal/political interest in urban areas failing.

I’ve never seen people hate on a City as much as St. Louis, especially hated on by “locals”. And by “locals”, I mean those West County and St. Charles County residents who wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for the City but would love for the City to be completely leveled.

@TeaBear_22 @CitySceneSTL 2) At this stage, it's a museum of urban architecture unappreciated by most residents. It's a center of nostalgia for a time that in fact was gone in decades. The factors that made St. Louis important for a time are gone.

@CitySceneSTL No one wants the city leveled. What we want is the city restored to brilliance. It is incredibly frustrating to watch the “leadership” go soft on crime and perpetuate the hellscape it has become. STL’s enormous potential has been squandered by years of fraud and failed policies.

@TeaBear_22 @CitySceneSTL 1) " . . restored to brilliance." How in the world could this happen? What would make it happen? At this stage, the city is barely needed by anyone anywhere. Nobody 1000 miles away is saying, "I'm moving to St. Louis to make my fortune."

Umm... I live in the city. I am from Chicago. Since 2014, when we moved to St. Louis, the following has happened: - My son was carjacked and kidnapped at gunpoint. - My house was broken into while I was in it. - My car was stolen. - My son's ex-girlfriend was murdered around the corner. - I've had 3 catalytic converters stolen. - Two of my neighbors homes were broken into - and then the women were sodomized. Beautiful city, gorgeous building stock, great parks - and an outrageous crime problem. The negative narrative about St. Louis is real and deserved.

In 1950, St. Louis was one of America's largest cities and an economic powerhouse. Today, its population has dwindled from its 50s high of roughly 850,000 to under 300,000 today. Hardly anyone wants to move there. Few cities symbolize American decline better than St. Louis.

@NotMoriarty1 @johnbryanesq Handing over the license in this situation to this officer wouldn't likely have ended it. The officer wanted trouble. Handing the license over would likely have initiated a set of events similar to those that happened. Check for warrants, then come back and provoke.

That was total BS although for the life of me, I can’t understand why more people don’t just turn their ID over and be done with it. I understand that it is you’re right not to. I also know that if I didn’t have any warrants, I would certainly give them my ID the squash all fear of me being involved in wrongdoing. In that young man’s defense? He was doing absolutely nothing wrong regardless.

🧐What's the solution for this culture? St.Louis has the same problem .Do ANY of the "youth" have a job? Designer clothes, shoes, hair weaves..They take over streets after dark, lawless behavior. Chicago was once a destination-Like St.Louis City, now people avoid at all cost.

Chaos in the loop tonight. Police radios are going crazy, reports of multiple assaults, fighting in the subway, looting of a 7-11 & street vendor threatened with her own knife. It’s going to be a really long summer.

@stlouispatriot Blaming outside forces is a long term St. Louis state of mind. If it's not Chicago's fault, it's NYC's fault or it's the dumbbell "hoosiers" who did in the city. On and on, but never look in the mirror and see the real source.

This is not the state or federal let-down. The problems in St. Louis are homegrown. Decades of Democrat leadership, current social activist officials, and the leftists idiots who vote them in. This may be the dumbest thing I have seen so far today. It's still early, though.
Christopher Shay@ChrisBurkeShay

A great piece about St. Louis, lovingly written. It details exactly how the state and federal governments are pushing the city into a death spiral—and also what the city and residents can do to fight back. thenation.com/article/politi…
