My father passed away today resting peacefully at home. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers over the last couple months! He was successful, but more important he was Significant.

NEW: 13-year-old Australian boy swims for four hours in cold and dangerous waters to save his mom and siblings who were swept into the ocean, says God is who got him to shore. The family was on kayaks & paddleboards when they were swept about 2.5 miles out to sea. After a conversation with his mother, Austin Appelbee decided he would swim back to shore to find help. Appelbee says he prayed throughout the four-hour swim and told God he would get baptized if he made it out alive. "I don't think it was actually me [swimming]... It was God the whole time. I kept on praying, kept on praying. I said to God, 'I'll get baptized.'" "The waves are massive, and I have no life jacket on… I just kept thinking 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming,'" he said. "And then I finally made it to shore, and I hit the bottom of the beach, and I just collapsed." Appelbee says when he got to shore, he had to sprint for about a mile to find help. According to AP, the family drifted 9 miles from Quindalup and spent 10 hours in the water. When he reached the shore, Appelbee alerted authorities, who then sent out a helicopter to find his mom, 12-year-old brother, and 8-year-old sister. Austin's mother, Joanne Appelbee, said one of the hardest decisions of her life was sending her son to shore. "One of the hardest decisions I ever had to make was to say to Austin: 'Try and get to shore and get some help. This could get really serious really quickly,'" she said. What a remarkable kid. I asked my producers not to make any clips from the dad grief portion but enough people reached out about this part I changed my mind. Jim Nantz on what Arnold Palmer told him about his dad is one of the most impactful things I’ve ever heard. A lot of people need to hear this.
Kevin Clark@bykevinclark

I kept an interview with Jim Nantz on the books after my dad’s passing this week because my dad would want me to keep going. Once we stared I found out Jim had done a ton of research into the man my father was and we spent a remarkable episode talking about dads. Link below.

I agree with Trevor. He accepted the position to be USA’s captain of the Ryder Cup team. The added distraction of being a playing Captain places undue pressure that is unnecessary. I would argue the same if he was an automatic pick too.
Trevor Immelman@TrevorImmelman

Is Keegan currently one of the 12 best American players? Yes, but because he’s the Captain, I don’t think he should play. IMO he should focus on being a leader for the US Team and their fans. I’d add these picks to the 6 auto’s: Thomas Cantlay Young Burns Griffin Morikawa

Such silly stuff from folks who should know better. Scottie has played 23 majors as a pro. He's won 4, or 17.4 percent. In Tiger's first 23 majors as a pro he won 8, or 34.8 percent. If you're going to slip in the "career" BS, wait till Scottie's career is over.

So true!
Ernie Els@TheBig_Easy

Interesting to read @McIlroyRory comments today. At 35 years old I was also bullet proof saying things about not playing past 50. I’m 55 now and laughing at my comments from back then. @ChampionsTour golf is so fulfilling with a great bunch of players we all grew up together from junior golf. Our sponsors and partners are wonderful companies and people. Competition is a powerful tool!
